Hello,

My mechanic replaced both lower front control arms in my car(98, AEB 1.8T) on Friday, now the front driver side sits about 1.2cm(wheel to fender gap measured at center) higher than the passenger side. I am not really familiar with the procedures involved in replacing the lower control arms, so wondering what could have gone wrong here?

Below link shows the control arm that was replaced on both sides;

Any suggestions? I would like to get an idea before going back to him..

Thanks...

Pictures of both sides?

The control arms do need to be torqued after being pre-loaded, but even if he didn't so that, it should cause an extra centimeter of height. I wouldn't rule it out though

Both driver and passenger side measured at the same point.. You can see that the driver side has some extra space between the tip of the key and the fender where as on the passenger side, the tip of the key sits inside fender
