So I have a Prestige B8 S4 that comes with a electronic window shade in the rear window.[:D]I think its pretty cool. Anyway last night I go to put it "up" and after the shade goes all the way up it sounds like the motor that makes the shade go up and down kept running. I then touch the button to put the rear window shade back down and it makes the noise again after the shade make its all the way down. The motor kept running and running for like 15 sec or more after the shade was put "up" or "down." Any thoughts? Do you think I need a new motor for the rear window shade? I really don't want to take my car to the dealer. The last 2 times I've had my car at the dealer it's been scraped and scratched by those SOB's. Any advice. Oh last thing.. the last time I tried to raise the window shade to the "up" position it barely made it up to the top of the rear window?

PSS-I've pretty much given up taking my car to Criswell Audi. I've heard nothing but good things about Audi of Silver Spring, Md. Anybody's name in particular I should ask for in the service dept?

I plan to keep the shade in the "up" position until further notice because i def don't want to hear that sound again if I move it….. Any thoughts?

anyone else have any thoughts about my rear sun shade making strange noises when it's put all the way up or when it's put all the way down. The motor keeps running and running….

my guess is something is broken in there or something wrong with the learned stops or whatever. I can't diagnose it more than that due to not know how exactly the system works.

Anyways how come you don't like criswell. I haven't really had to many issues with them. Its nice because they are convient. But Audi SS ive had no issues with their service dept. But their sales sucks bad. I might have to take my audi there as well. I heard len stoler audi gives out S model cars as loners though lol

Thanks for the response. The reason I don't like Criswell audi even though its right down the road from me is that they scraped my front bumper on a curb and said it was already like that when I dropped off the car. (not true) and the latest event was when I was getting my thermostat replaced and I come to pick up my car and notice a 4 inch scratch on my trunk lid. I immediately go in to show the service guy and all he can offer is a microfiber towel and a spray bottle to try to wipe the scratch away which it didn't. They offered to buff it out but I told the guy right to his face that I'm not comfortable leaving my car in their hands to see what the 3rd f-up is going to be. It's sad because Criswell is so close but I'd rather drive some where else so my car is truly in good hands.
