Hello Fellow Audiziners,
I wanted to start this thread to showcase my car as a fellow enthusiast, and show everybody a different side of things. I am also using the car as a project for my company (Function and Form), but i will not use this thread to actively promote/sell any of our parts on this car(nothing in production yet). When they are released we will release that information as a forum sponsor on here. I will disclose any generic or limited info on them, within forum rules. I am an enthusiast first, it's my personal car first, and i'm excited to share my experience just like everybody else who loves their Audi's. I will answer any questions anybody has to the best of my ability, and explain at times my choice of certain products. Many "project"cars are put together from as many free and heavily discounted parts, a person can get. I spend all day getting sponsorship proposals in my e-mail for projects, so i know how the game goes. But these S4's are close to my heart (this being my second one). Even though i do have some help and relationships, i only wanted products that i truly loved, even if that meant paying full price, or more than other offers. Anyway. hope you guys enjoy the pictures and details.
Here are a few of my previous B8 S4

This build thread is catching up on 3 months worth of quick work since i received the car August 13th (birthday present for myself). Here are some stock photos....

I previously had a 2012 B8. Many people on these forums told me i was a fool for jumping to the 2015 and it was a waste. Thats why i don't ask for opinions on here lol. It was not a waste TO ME. Almost everything i hated about the B8 was improved. Might not be that way for the next person. But for those who are on the fence. I tell people "its the car i wish my previous s4 was, only thing i miss was the Red color, but I am falling in love with the blue".
Steering wheel, shift knob, Navi, Paddles, Drive Select memory, and Mmi functions were some of the best improvements to me. Everything else such as gearing and stuff don't bother me. I just deal with it and enjoy the car. Only thing i absolutely hated was the flower petal wheels on the black optics kit. I am willing to trade for some perfect Rotors from previous black optics kits. Plus a little cash! I hate them that much. But wasn't a big deal since they were taken off the car immediately.

First Mod.
Function and Form prototype Coil-Overs off my previous S4. I have spent about 15k miles on these coils, and still continuing, to find ways to improve them. But they ride great. They are single adjustable. When we approached this car, i thought of the fellow S4 enthusiasts and problems that they had with their coil-over systems. Things such as location of dampening adjustment knob. Ease of adjustment. Spring heights (i run springs for my aggressive height and wheel preference, if these go in production these will not be standard spring heights), ride quality, serviceability, quality control, Etc. I am happy with it, and look forward to sharing more with you guys when the time is right. Until then here are some pictures of what we have so far on the 3rd revision overall.
BTW, these are %100 made in the USA. Some might be familiar with our company in other markets, and not familiar with us making a %100 USA made product. But i personally have been working to change that, and my S4 was the start of that becoming a reality. Major goal of mines.

Next install was the exhaust.
I went with AWE on this car. AWE touring exhaust with 102MM black diamond tips. I was really really thinking about the track exhaust. But even though this is not a daily, i didn't feel excessive drone fit with my lifestyle and my use of the car. So i didn't want to take the chance. I can always switch later. I am on factory downpipes. I read a lot of threads and searched for a lot of videos before i made this decision. I AM %100 happy with the choice. There is hardly any drone to me (that is, drone that can be heard over my music. So it works for me), the sound is really great, especially around 4krpm's. The exhaust tone takes on a exotic character almost. I get a lot of compliments on the sound. Even from non car enthusiasts, which says a lot.
If you are considering skipping the downpipes on the DSG/S-tronic, it won't be a mistake. But everybody has different sound tolerances, and preferences of how they would like their car to behave and sound to fit their personality.
Installation was easy, but it was 2 of us. I could not see myself doing it by myself. But it was easy to do with 4 hands, a jack and some jack stands. And since i wanted the tips to sit in the valance like OEM, it took a few hours of tweaking the tips and mufflers.
Thanks to Zack and Robert over at AWE for all their help and questions. They gave me really honest advice on which system i should go with. Not trying to sell me whats hot or new. And they really got their build times down now. About 2-3 weeks.

I read paddles and skipped over the rest.
Jk. Nice setup so far! Agree on a wheel upgrade and AWE FTW.

Next we threw on the Wheels, and car headed over to TAG Motorsports to get the RS5 Brakes, Alignment, Xpel Ultimate Clear Bra, etc.
You guys may have already seen these pictures.

Brakes:
RS5 calipers painted Giallo Orion pearl yellow off the older Lamborghini LP640/Muirci. (sourced by TAG Motorsports, took about 3-4 weeks)
R8 rotors (older models, so this is basically a pre facelift RS5 kit. I didn't care to pay extra for wave rotors for now)
Rear calipers painted to match.
All paint done in house by TAG Motorsports.
* I have not tested these on the track. Yet. I have read up a lot on here about these brakes. I know what to expect. I wanted an OEM brake solution, with the feel and look of a BBK kit. Reason i chose these.
* On the street, they feel like my stock S4 brakes, but with less noise when cold (I'm assuming thats due to different OEM pads. I haven't looked into this much). But.....a few times i have slammed on the brakes, and i did feel some difference. I assume i will feel more of a difference on the track, and with brake fade.
Wheels:
20x10 (not telling the offset but close to what people usually run on a 20x10 aggressive fitment for the S4)
HRE RS103
Painted grey faces, and inner barrels.
Brushed w/ tinted clear lips.
"HRE" lettering painted (Believe it or not, this little touch stands out on the wheel. But i love details)
I choose HRE honestly after going to their open house, and getting a better understanding of the heritage and build of these wheels. Seeing it first hand can change your mind. They initially weren't even in my budget. But the budget went to hell after i was impressed by a first hand look in to their company. They were always on my bucket list of wheels, so..... YOLO. When i received the wheels, i could see why they are one of the top in the custom wheel industry. Do not regret a dime (a lot of them) spent. I initially was going to go with all black. But once considering the detail of the wheel, i went with the color combo used on the TAG Sepang RS5. Best decision i made on this car.
If you guys want, i can weight the current wheel and tire combo vs the poem 19" wheel and tire combo. I think we did it and they were the same. Or within less than a pound, but don't quote me on this.
Tires:
Falken 453 245/30/20
Now i will say this. I am sponsored by Falken. But i am not under any contract, so i can keep it real. I really wanted to try some Hankooks (due to them having my tire size desired, and the price). I had Falken 452's on my previous S4. Due to me running...... lets say a "aggressive" tire set up for our cars. (245/30 on 9" wheel), i bubbled a lot of 452's. In 3 years i ran through 10 tires. only 3 were from camber wear. I tried out the 453's on my daily driver and loved them. They seem to have a thicker sidewall, and are quieter. Performance and grip are excellent for a street car, being driven within limits on the street.
I decided to try these tires on my S4 due to the thicker sidewall handling the stretch i needed for my desired stance, and my pleasant results on my daily driver (great tread wear by the way. over 25k on my daily drivers tires with no abnormal wear. And that car is on air ride). I have no complaints! i have loved these tires I do plan to switch my stock tires out for Hankook RS3's before i take the car to the track.
Xpel Clear Bra:
Whole front end wrapped (bumper, lights, hood, fenders, mirrors)
Nobody can tell it's there. My installer did a wonderful job with the custom pieces and wrapping the edges. This is the best mod of the car. I have no worries when driving my car. That alone is worth the price. Also.... my detailer only has to really detail 1/3 of my car now :) saves me some pain in the wallet.
If you are considering doing this? DO IT!! I do not drive the car, park outside, etc etc. Still worth every penny when I'm driving past or next to a big rig or lifted truck.

Random photos taken or i have taken of the car since it was completed labor day weekend. Took about 2 weeks to put everything together. Of course the fun of ordering a car and waiting is ordering parts and waiting, and hope they all come in at the same time. Mission accomplished. That was a fun part of the experience. Brings back my youthful excitement :D

Next Up. A Big goal of the car and dream for me personally........SEMA PREP!!

Looks nice, I always thought of function/form as an entry level coil over for the sport compact market, but since you own an s4 I may change my opinion from my past experience with my old honda/acuras

Very nice. Like the yellow calipers.
Good choice of 20s with those wheels. Wheels with lips look smaller so it's always good to go larger.
If I had to choose another color besides red I would have chosen sepang for sure.

Thats a correct perception of our brand overall. Where we started, but i have always had a love for VW/Audi and finally got to merge the two. We are starting to incorporate some mid level, and homemade stuff into our line, and developing more stuff. Personally for this caliber of car we have, i would never make anything i wouldn't personally love. So no entry level.
Thanks for the compliment!!

Yea, I've had everything from a Saleen Mustang and a Mustang Shelby Cobra, to a Bentley GT, among others and now the S4. I really love Mustangs and will probably end up with a Shelby Super Snake, but I am really liking the Audi! My problem with the R8 is that I can not get my golf bag in it! And whatever I get will be a DD so... I drive my cars....although, if I do get a Shelby SS, that one may not get driven as much. They are really going to be VERY collectible. I would love to have another Bentley, but the costs to own those cars are just unreal! Eventually, I WILL get a Ferrari 458 Italia! But that one will take some sweet talking of the wife!!LOL!

I hate tint on my modified cars. Always fishbowl on all my cars.
But i do want to get some aluminum mirror caps. Just didn't feel like paying 750 for the pair right now. But its on the mod list. I wasn't a fan of the color matched ones. But its not a deal breaker.

Sema Prep!!
I have been to SEMA the last 9-10 years straight. But this year i finally got the chance to have my car on display. A big goal/dream of mines. It was not in any companies booth, but thats ok. All i wanted was a great spot. I think the car actually looks better out in the sun, than inside under the lights. Looks brighter.
First was the car to get a detail. Compound, then polish, then seal. Even went ahead and cleaned the inside of the wheels, the brakes, and inside the wheel wells.
Eco-Shine did the detail, and Mitch is a fellow Audi/VW enthusiast. So he went to town on my car with passion. I appreciate it Mitch!

Next was the decals, graphics, livery, etc. I wanted to keep the look somewhat clean. But i didn't just want to do a roll call down the window or door. I will admit i saw another car years back do something very similar but it was more discrete. I don't think anybody noticed it on that car. So i took the general idea of having the sponsor point to that general area of the car, and then added the specs to it. I am happy the way it came out, and everybody that has seen it has complimented it. Even random strangers walking by the car at the show so far. Being that we don't specialize in stickers or graphics, it took us 3 days to do this lol.

Classy & inspiring, Pworld!! I have a B8.5 S4 on order and can't wait to get it. I have HRE wheels high on my list although they're outrageously expensive. Any recommendations on where to purchase them? Love your RS5 brakes, especially with the Giallo Orion yellow pearl - very nice. [hail]
