I have a 2008 Quartz Grey Audi A4 with the 3.2 v6. I got the car in July 2013 with 75,xxx miles as the third owner. Initially I really didn't care much for the car as I was going through a bit of a RWD phase and because it is Quattro it didn't appeal to me. When I finally got the bug to start modding it I fell in love with the car. I've heard really good things about the rare 3.2 v6 when it is straight-piped and that is exactly what i planned on doing.

Since I've already had the car for over a year I'll get you updated on the progress.

Started out completely stock

The first thing I did was lower the car. I went with BC Racing BR type coilovers. Full height adjustability with 30 way dampening adjustability. So far after a year of having them I love them.

Before and After for the coilovers

Wasn't exactly happy with how high the front sat still, but I figured I'd get some new wheels and see how they looked, then lower it more. I liked the look of the stock 5 spoke S-Line wheels, so i decided to stick with that design and get some VMR V705 wheels... Specs 18x8.5 et35.

Wheels mounted and front lowered a bit more

I was really happy with the way the car was coming along and over the winter decided to add some aesthetic mods. I started with window tint, then added a SEAT Cupra R front lip...

Next I snagged up one of the last sets of Relaks RPF sideskirts (blades) as they are now a discontinued product. I think they look great and I left them black to match the front lip. The skirts bolted right up to the stock rockers.
Pic of the car with lip and rocker skirts on:

The last aesthetic mod I did was paint the brake calipers. I used high heat engine block paint from pepboys and after having them painted for almost 6 months I have yet to see any fading. The color I chose was burnt copper, sort of resembles the Brembos that come on the GTR. Even though they don't stop me any faster I love the way they came out.

Next I thought I would attempt to get a bit more power out of the 3.2 engine. As most people know aftermarket parts for this engine pretty much consist of an exhaust, intake, and ecu tune. I started with an ECU tune. Chris at CBtuning hooked me up by contacting one of his buddies at OEtuning to make a custom tune for the car. Besides doing a custom tune the only tune out there that I know of is by Unitronic and it only adds 13hp and 16tq. That simply wasn't enough for me. The custom tune I got adds about 20hp and 20tq for the same price as the Unitronic tune. After the ECU tune was done it was time to let the 3.2 be heard. I was impressed with the stock sound of the engine but still wanted it louder... alot louder. Again I contacted Chris at CBtuning and we decided that instead of buying or modifying a magnaflow or miltek, that we would build one from scratch to give the car a unique sound. The stock exhaust is a true dual from the headers back, stock size is 2.5". I went up to 2.75", deleted the mufflers, added an x-pipe, and added two new high flow resonators to clean up the sound, we ended it with 3.5" exhaust tips. By the end I had a catback straightpipe that sounded simply amazing. People at car shows have told me that they thought a lambo or GTR was coming around the corner and it was just me in my A4 lol. Time for some pics and vids. Enjoy!

After the tune and exhaust I haven't done much besides added a pioneer touchscreen headunit and attended carshows. I'm getting new tires this week to replace the old 235's. I went with a 225 hoping that maybe I can lower the car a bit more on them. The 235's rub as is so maybe the 225's will tuck. Ill update as soon as I get those mounted.

Future plans:
S4 Recaro seats
Full CAT delete (aka full straight-pipe... hopefully 2x as loud)
New steering wheel
Custom intake
New rims (eventually)
Possibly a wrap (big maybe, I like the stock color)
RS4 front grill

For now I'll leave you with some recent photos from shows and shoots! Thanks!

Great looking/sounding car!

I have been wanting your wheels for a while now. I just don't if I should go with silver, gunmetal, or black..

#firstworldproblems

Also, how do you know the tuning adds 20hp and 20tq if it was "custom"? Not to bust your balls, but just don't drink the kool-aid.

First off thanks for the compliment. I love the V705 wheels, I also struggled about the color choice between black and gunmetal. Silver looked to stock to me. Also you're completely right about the tune. We are estimating about 20hp/tq based off of the unitronic tune numbers. The Unitronic file is a very conservative tune... all I know for sure is that the custom tune definitely gave me more power than the unitronic tune would've because we started with the base unitronic file and went from there. I guess I wont know the exact numbers until I get it dyno'ed, but Im waiting to do that after i get the CAT delete done.

Man I love the ride and plan to do something similar. When you had your custom tune done, was that before or after your exhaust? Did you have any dyno numbers? If so, what where those numbers?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I had the exhaust done first, no I don't have dyno numbers... Yet. Soon hopefully

Haven't had much of a problem with chips yet, but I don't daily my car anymore or drive it in the winter, so that helps, gonna respray them this spring tho

I hear you, With the 225/40 tires are you still having issues with rubbing? Still going back and forth what rim to get and what size to go with.

No i have no issues at all with rubbing, even with 4 people in the car... And I'm running 10mm spacers all around. It's like the perfect setup for me
