Hey guys,

I've been on the forums now for a few months since I got my A6, but this is my first post. So far I have tinted the windows 20% all around and recently in the last month took it to the dealer to get the apr chip. It wasn't a hard decision to go for it especially after all the great reviews and seeing the differences on my friends cars. It was expensive but definitely worth it. The throttle response provides instantaneous power that throws you back and leaves the guy next to you in your dust. The apr chip definitely brought the beast out of the 3.0 tfsi with increased power you can feel, and that's all in drive mode, not sport or manual. I am looking into exhaust upgrades and I am wondering if anyone has comments or suggestions as to what mods would go great with this car. I've looked at stasis but not sure if I should get one of theirs since they went out of business. Milltek is another one I came across, but feel free to tell me what you think. Also thinking about led license plate lights but there's so many out there that I don't want to get the wrong ones. Thanks

I have not done exhaust yet but have been looking. Remus has a kit. I have the same car and have done the LED plate lights though. I ordered them from genuineaudiparts.com and they worked like a charm. They look amazing at night.

Thanks for the helpful information. I think $27 per bulb is a little much, but then again I'm nervous getting the cheap $7 bulbs on eBay. Do you get any error message on your dash saying there is a bulb out? I think it's a common problem with these other bulbs on the market. I am going to look into Remus some more, I've already watched some videos on YouTube and the exhaust sounds very impressive.

I thought that it was a bit much myself but considering they want $45 each at the dealership, $27 dollars was a deal. They are a complete unit (not just a bulb) and are side specific. If you install them right there should not be a code. Mine have been in for 6 months or so and haven't had a flicker, code or any other problem. I'm thinking that the earlier models were the ones that got codes but I'm not a pro. They are defiantly worth the money compared to others.

Bump.

Does anybody know of any exhaust upgrades out there?
I've called a lot of companies and none of them offer an exhaust for my car.
Could it be because of the random 3.0T engine they came out with?
Or maybe, because it's a 2010 a6 c6 and companies don't care lol...

Share your thoughts please

Not a whole lot is offered for the C6A6 cars in the way off aftermarket modifications especially for exhaust. It is a matter that the car was not a big seller so the aftermarket guys focused on the A4/S4/A5/A5 cars. That has changed some with the newer C7A6 as there appears to be more in the way of mods available.
As for the exhaust, if it is sound you are looking for, removing the center resonators, adding a "X" pipe in its place and changing the rear mufflers will liven up the sound at a fraction of the cost. However, if you want a complete system from the catalytic converters back, that is going to be a custom job and about $2k - $2500. A custom exhaust will get you some additional power as long as you upsize the pipes. Stock is a restrictive 2.25" that create a lot of back pressure especially if you are tuned. Bumping up to 2.75" or even 3" will free up the motor to breath better.
