Anyone have this setup on their B6/B7? I would love to take a spin around the block in a car with them installed. I'm trying to decide what route I want to go with my brakes and I'd love to feel them in person...

Let me know!

Thank you!

I have some. I should be dropping them off for powdercoating soon. I'll have installed in a few weeks.

Are you doing 17z or 18z? What pads?

I sell both of these a lot. 18Zs are better overall, larger diameter disc, more heat capacity, they also cost $100 more or so typically. However the 17Z are still fantastic brakes and you won't really notice much difference if any [from the 18Z] unless you're really pushing them hard at the track. You have to realize that these are stock on 5000+lb Cayennes and even the Cayenne stops amazingly. Either is really beyond sufficient for any Audi. A lot of people who go with 17Zs do it so that they can run 17" wheels.

I don't plan on running 17" wheels again so that's a non issue. I also plan on spending time at the track, so the price difference is worth the peace of mind and performance in my opinion. Thanks for the info, I would still love to feel them on an 8E chassis before I commit. I'm debating between an 18z and an ST40 kit.

Should've gone TTRS [emoji12]. Just kidding RS4 brakes are fantastic. Plus you can get the JHM 380mm rotor rings when yours wear out.

Yeah definitely go 18 then. The other positive is that the 18Z pistons are a little smaller (30/34/38 vs 34/36/38) so the pedal is firmer. But I'm sure you'll love them once you feel/drive with them.

17z's--- have not decided on the pads yet.

But it has almost brand new pads on them so ill run those for a bit.

Oh yeah I remember you posting some info on the ttrs brakes. They are 6 pot same rotor right? Or what was it that was awesome about them?

Ha I'm just joking since I remembered that conversation on the B7 forum.

RS 4s should be better although I doubt the difference is measurable in 95% of conditions. TTRS is 370mm (5mm bigger) and OEM 2pc rotors are only $190 each which is big savings over the $500/each OEM RS4 rotors. And it's a 4 piston caliper vs 8, but much larger pistons of course.

What about brackets? They don't just bolt up do they?

LINDW4LL

Yeah they bolt up. But you already have RS4 right?

Damn....yeah I have rs4 in my garage but the rotors are at 31mm...so it's kinda sketch. Those ttrs are probably 90% just as good but way cheaper for maintenance.

Id still just keep them. JHMs normal 365 rings are only $575 (didn't realize they were that cheap. Just reuse your hats). So you're only spending an extra 185 over new TTRS rotors which isn't significant at this point since you already have everything.

Also 380s are 695 for reference.
