There's a story about the dealers in this area that may be worth sharing.

When I bought my RS a little less than two months ago, there were two of them in the DFW area - one at DFW Audi and one at Plano Audi. I saw the one I bought at DFW Audi when initially shopping for a Q5, but called about the Sazuka Gray one that Plano Audi (Autonation) had. The guy at Plano would not even have a realistic conversation about selling the RS saying that they would take $500 off, but no more, end of story. DFW Audi came down to 5% off and made a very aggressive trade offer on the Carrera, so that cinched the deal. I was happy with that since there was no way to get a Prism car (which I instantly fell in love with when I saw it) anywhere in Texas or Oklahoma.

Since then, my wife was going back and forth on the Q5 (compared to the Macan) until DFW Audi called almost two weeks ago to say they could get a white SQ5 that she might like.

Fast forward to Monday when I saw a white SQ5 on Plano Audi's website that was configured exactly like the one mentioned by DFW Audi and exactly what my wife said she wanted. So I called Plano and reached a sales person I previously talked to about Q5s, but the guy would not even talk to me on the phone and said they would only talk if I was there in person. The problem is, their store is 50 miles away and about 1.5 hours drive in traffic. I then emailed the sales manager explaining the other pricing I was quoted, sent pictures of my two trades as well as the trade numbers offered, and expressed an interest in trying to make a deal subject to them being satisfied with my trades. I told him I would bring the trades when we scheduled a closing, and if he did not like them, then he would not be bound to the deal. I've done this before (even with DFW Audi) and its worked out great each time. I got no response!

We closed the deal today at DFW Audi. Fair deal all around. Drove home in the SQ5. Happy salesman sold two nice cars to the same guy in less than two months.

The kicker is that DFW Audi got the SQ5 from Plano Audi in a dealer trade after they cut a deal with me. Plano Audi missed the second opportunity in as many months to sell two rather expensive vehicles simply because they would not talk on the phone or by email.

If you're shopping, you might find it worthwhile to call Maurice at DFW Audi. Stand up guy!

Kudos to DFW Audi. I have heard nothing but horror stories about Audi Plano and Audi of American wants to partner up with AutoNation. I hope its just an isolated root at Audi Plano and not other AutoNation Audi dealerships.

Based on my efforts with three different people at the Plano dealership, it seems to be a corporate culture thing. Far cry from how I run my business.

Good to hear! I could have stopped by and yelled at the salesman for you. I work in Plano/Dallas but live in FW. 40 miles each way... getting coilovers installed to make my drive a little more fun.

Maybe I should have, but I don't want to yell at the salesman. He just doesn't get it, I don't think.

There are two ways to do business - (i) wait for it to come to you, or (ii) make an effort to get it. Most of us know what works better.

That's where I got mine, too. John Kimberly is a great guy as well.
He had me hammer the SQ5 on the test drive harder than I would have in a new vehicle and closed the sale.
I've not had any problems with the service department, but it's really only been in once.
They were also very helpful with loaners when the clear bra, tint, and Lo-Jack were installed.

Agree with DFW Audi being a good dealership to go to. Bought mine from John K as well. Everything has been great from those guys.

Not a fan of the dealership in Plano. I took my S5 there for the first oil change. Told them to do everything but wash it. When the car came back I ask if the tires where rotated. The service manager said yes!! Took a look at the dirty wheels on the front. They should have been on the rear if they rotated them. Never went back. I always go to audi Dallas. Good people. Did try to deal with all three on my SQ5 last year. Went back to my dealer in Denver and got it for $1000 over invoice and a good trade in on my S5. Also he was able to get my audi exclusive color misano red.

When we bought our A4 Cab in December 2012, there was nothing in the OK area so we headed to Dallas for a weekend of looking around. Found several used cars at DFW Audi that fit the bill perfectly. Salesman Scott Bibb was really great to work with and since the car we wanted was overdue for service he ran it through for the 25,000 mile service and gave us a loaner car for over night to come back and get our Cab after the service was completed the next day. I still have their DFW Audi license plate frame on the car and I usually don't like to give free advertising to a dealer. It was the only place we went were we really felt like they wanted our business.
We'll be in the market for a NEW Audi in a little over a year and they can expect a visit from us

I'll chime in that if you're in the DFW area and want an Audi, do NOT visit Audi Plano. Both, DFW Audi and Audi of Dallas, are fantastic though!

Well this is great to know, I just bought my A8L from Autonation in Frisco and was going to use the Plano store as my local stealership. Parts guy was a bit crappy with me when I needed to order parts. Might have to re think and Audi Dallas might be the next step. Are they Autonation too?
