View Full Version : RS6 C7 - Racelogic measurements
Hello,
measurements of my RS6 C7
OEM:
0-100 3.7
100-200 8.8
1/4 mile 11.85
with software (only) on 93 octane (98 ron) made by CompSport
0-100 3.2
100-200 7.2
1/4 mile 11.14

On oem Pirelli P-zero tires with little traction at the beginning (0-60 km/h is quite poor), next week a set of Michelin SportCup 2 should arrive and I'll send an update :)

the 0-100 is pretty impressive. I would likely engage in criminal behavior to snag a RS6 if it ever made it to the US.

Agreed the 0-100 is my interest area. 3.2 is a great start particularly if you had traction issue in the 0-60.
Can you tell us your launch technique?
Are you using all safeties off and left foot break? What RPM for launch
Thx in advance and great job!
Hi,
car on Dynamic Mode, ESC Off (couple seconds on the traction control button), both feet pressing hard on pedals, rpm goes up to about 2.5-2.7k, I wait for the boost on the Laptimer to build (it's not steady, goes a little up and down) and release left foot from the brake when I think that boost is in the highest position available this way.
Without launch control 0-100 km/h takes about 4 seconds, and I never tried launching from the brake without launch control (because of the automatic gearbox I'm sure it would be just slipping and damaging the clutch while waiting for me to release the brake).
Best regards :)
OK - so how many people thought that the numbers were MPH?[:D]

I didn't even realize the rs6 has launch control, did I read that right.
I thought the rs6 was essentially the same as rs7 except for the body and the unavailability of the 6 in the US
same LC as in RS7, so you obviously have it too, works like that (not my video):

Thanks man, you've inspired me to read the owners manual.
Edit:
No launch control that I could find. Maybe it's a definitional difference. I'm used to a button you press then you floor and the computer takes of when you lift the brake.
I do have left foot braking unlocked from the APR tune so I can do torque brake launch
Here's another post I found.
The RS7 uses the tiptronic that's in the A6, A7, S8 etc because the s-tronic cannot handle the torque. The tiptronic does not have launch control and neither does the RS7.
What they are referring to is "torque launching" which is just using the brakes to hold the car in place and utilizing the torque inverter to allow the revs to get to about 2500~ before dumping. I do this in my A6 but it's not proper launch control. The transmission is engaged at all times. You have to be careful when doing this as the ATF will get very hot.
I don't have anything about it in the manual as well, but the dealer told me that's the only way to launch the car without putting a lot of stress on the transmission/clutch. It's supposed to be engaging the clutch differently than while simply pressing brake and gas pedal and realasing the brake on any different mode. Plus it's impossible to achieve advertised 0-62mph time without this 'LC', without tune I managed around 4.3-4.4. I'd be very happy if someone knew for sure what is doing what exactly and clarified that.
Different question - following the tune does your exhaust still 'pop and bang' after releasing the throttle on Dynamic mode ? Mine seems to have lost the loud 'shots' that came after the initial bass rumble :(

When you press button for a couple seconds, do you mean the 5 second it takes to turn everything off? Or the partial disable that happens at single push?
I was under the impression that factory settings prevented using the brake while the throttle was engaged and that this is why APR advertises the following
Left Foot Braking:
APR's Left Foot Braking feature allows more control over the vehicle’s throttle. The factory equipped RS6 & RS7’s throttle input is disabled while pressing the accelerator and brake at the same time. Left Foot Braking, a common motorsport driving technique, allows the driver complete control over the vehicle’s throttle and braking system, which may give the RS6 & RS7 the edge it needs at the track. As is with all features APR adds to the ECU, this feature may be removed upon request.
I'd like to qualify myself as a rookie in research, I'm just trying to better understand the function.
Regarding the pops and burble, I have the sport exhaust option. It's seems way more pronounced in sport mode than stock, but maybe less in manual and also seems less in "D".
