USP Motorsports presents | SPULEN Transmission Mount- Audi B5 A4/S4!!!

Spulen Transmission Mount- Audi B5 A4/S4

The factory transmission mount found on the Audi A4/S4 vehicles was not developed with performance in mind. Constructed of pocketed rubber and cast aluminum, the factory mount allows the transmission to move excessively during hard acceleration and driving. This excessive movement is responsible for the clunking noises and “slop” felt in the drivetrain during shifting and changes in acceleration.

In order remove excessive movement, Spulen designed a billet aluminum mount complete with a polyurethane bushing. The billet aluminum mount is precision CNC'd and then hard anodized black for durability. The included polyurethane bushing is made of 75A polyurethane, providing the perfect balance of stability without increasing cabin vibration. Once installed, drivetrain movement is reduced and clunking noises are eliminated.

Features:
75A Durometer polyurethane mount
Precision CNC'd Mount
Removes drivetrain “slop” and clunking
No added vibration inside the vehicle.

Phil,

I have had excessive vibrations purchasing poly motor mounts and will never do that again. Will the trans mount add any vibrations?

Yes it wil.

Thank you for your honesty!

no problem - better to share that with you than you get it and install it and then want to return it but we dont take returns on used parts and it be a bad situation. No one wins there.

All of these mounts will increase vibrations but they do soften up over time and it is not too bad. You can feel an increase but I haven't seen it so bad that the entire car is vibrating.

When I put some aftermarket motor mounts in a while back, I really wondered whether they actually "broke in", or whether I just got used to them. I think it was a little of both (but not a whole lot of either). < That makes sense in my head.

It is both but the mounts will soften up in the first little bit and this will reduce the overall feel. The 1.8T is a smooth running motor and I run 034 Street density engine/transmission mounts with a DTS & poly transmission mount with solid aluminium front sub-frame mounts and I do not feel much vibrations. These are well built cars with good quality parts so you will feel more vibrations through the car but little will rattle in the car. The stock engine and transmission mounts are too soft for aggressive driving so you need something like this to keep the engine in place.
