Had a little brewery cruise in the hills and one of the guys brought his rs7 out and on the way home did a little run against the procharged e46 that made 500whp on a dyno. I guess the rs7 walked away with ease on the interstate. RS7 is stock too.http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af284/atenza_freak/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140907_143809_zps232ejqzs.jpg (http://s1016.photobucket.com/user/atenza_freak/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140907_143809_zps232ejqzs.jpg.html)http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af284/atenza_freak/Mobile%20Uploads/20140907_143121_zpsbeqpplif.jpg (http://s1016.photobucket.com/user/atenza_freak/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140907_143121_zpsbeqpplif.jpg.html)http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af284/atenza_freak/Mobile%20Uploads/20140907_104052_zpspvaflucc.jpg (http://s1016.photobucket.com/user/atenza_freak/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140907_104052_zpspvaflucc.jpg.html)

Walked away on the interstate, is that a surprise? 8spd AWD, more HP, higher top speed, etc. etc. The only thing the 10yr. old E46 has going for it is its weight.

How much does a stock rs7 dyno? It weighs like 4 400 lbs when the m3 weighs 3400ish and makes 500whp so if the rs7 makes 540whp still surprises me a bit.

I don't know what dyno the m3 used but if a 100 octane tuned rs7 on a mustang dyno made 559... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/602406-RS7-APR-Tuned-100-octane-Dyno-Numbers

Audi quotes 540 at the crank. Audis are notorious for putting down more than the quoted crank power at the wheel. I can vouch for this. :)

AWD hurst you on the highway as well. Unless you're doing a 10 roll you're unlikely to have traction issues.

what about the tq to the wheels on the m3? that's also one factor.

Yeah I'm asking the guy some Info on the start stop mph and stuff like that.

60-130 the m3 jumped both times they raced and the m3 was ahead but rs7 caught up and passed got about 1 car length ahead and was still pulling away quickly then the m3 slowed down. So idk if that's wrecking a 500hp m3 or not but still good on the rs7 I feel.

Its faster than you would think and this transmission is fantastic plus the usual Audi lowballing the real number...its freaky fast...it impresses me that I am really wondering how close a run against my R8 would be...I'm not surprised at all after my experiences with my car. I walked a tuned to 550hp RS6 like it was standing still from a rolling start (even gave him a head start to spool his turbos) and at highway speeds.

The v8 r8s don't even stand a chance

Surprises me quite a bit. I'd have to bet the E46 is inflating his numbers.

1) RWD isn't really at at any disadvantage at highway speeds
2) E46 weighs 900lbs less and has the same power, stock RS makes around 500whp.

I would ditch the v10 for a 4.0tt any day

4.0T is replacing the 4.2 - I have no doubt it will be faster than the V10 once tuned. I'm guessing they'll be using a (dry sump) S7 engine instead of the RS7 version. I can't see them detuning the RS7 engine all the way down to 450hp, but that would be pretty awesome.

I still love the V10, mostly thanks to Underground Racing.

He said, "I looked up my kit info and whp should be about 420. Engine power should be 510. Tq is 365 "

the twin turbo is needed in place of the regular V8. V10 is great but the S7/RS7 engine in an R8 would be nuts with the torque and then easy tuning. Although I will say I really do not need more hp than my V10 has now (560 in the GT).
