So i have been thinking of giving this car up and getting a platform I can do more to.... Arin at Apr talked me into doing stage 1 and of course once stage 2 is ready I will do that also. I drove the car today around 2 pm to http://www.dubsquared.net in Arlington Texas. a couple of hours go by and I'm ready to leave. (by the way they have great knowledge and customer service....I will be back there for more stuff!!!)
I babied the car for a few miles and then I saw a little opening I could get on the car..... WOW! I just sold my 2014 GT-R it was a full bolt on e85 car 638 to wheels and I have to say this car pulled very hard! maybe not as fast but i doubt many on the road now can pull on me with ease.... I am very please with Apr and there tune. I just can't wait to get the stage2!!!! This is how the car should have come from the factory!

Good to hear you like the tune !
I say this all the time & ill say it again the RS7 is the most beautilful Audi personally.
Next to the RS5 and the RS6 Avant of course.

I can't wait till next week, I start running sunoco 100 octane. Then i will probably just stay on that and not switch to 93 again.

I was running c85 from VP racing in my gtr. I only drive 500 miles a month.

Drove the car today and check engine light came on... Hmmm have had tune maybe 100 miles.no codes.... Help. What can it be? Car is 2015 1700 miles.. Can I get a refund? How does that work? Says you can on there web page. I'm sorry but I hate issues with tunes etc. my last cars tuned and never had a check engine code...maybe Apr can help.

It could be a number of things. Could be caused by the tune or not related to the tune at all. It's always best to wait to tune until after the break-in period. Some may say it doesn't matter. But if you wait, when you have a problem, you know it's because of the car itself. And you can bring it to the dealership to fix it without the fear of Td1 or without reflashing. My humble advice to you is to bring it to your tune shop and let them figure out. If they can't, bring it to another shop. Good luck.

My suggestion would be to contact the shop that did your tune.

Weird. I will say that APR is generally very reliable- most people will never have a CEL caused by their tunes.

Car drives fine. But I'm just frustrated. I was going to 100 octane Monday but might hold off. Car ran great before tune. I was not even getting onto the car just put foot in it half way to move over and light started blinking the stayed on. I am only 2 lines away from Empty on fuel. Maybe it's that? No codes pop up on app for apr on iPhone

I have an odb2 to iPad cord that I use to read cel codes. I've never had one on the RS7 but I used to need it for my Z06
The cord is around $80-$100 and the iPad ap is free "golink"
I'd suggest having the code read before taking any action. You need to know what's really wrong to make a rational decision. I've heard people had check engine from the gas cap being loose.

Sounds like a coilpack issue?

Flash the car back to stock, then take it to Audi and play dumb. let Audi fix the car, then flash back, I would suggest contacting your local dealer instead of APR directly since i am sure they are still working on their restructuring so you will have much better service from your local dealer.
also if you ran c race fuel in your car you probably killed an o2 sensor running leaded fuel. you have to buy unleaded race fuel, also don't worry about check engine lights if it was major the car would tell you to stop driving it it is probably just a sensor, or something simple.
If you haven't read some of the earlier APR/tune threads already, Kiku was having some coil pack issues this past winter/spring in his '14 RS7 after the tune. I believe APR remedied the issue with some software upgrades but he did have to have multiple packs replaced if I remember correctly. Had something to do with the spark plug gap. That being said, I am surprised that you are having issues as I understood that most of the kinks had been worked out.
Like suggested above, I would start by going back to the shop who did the tune and sort out what is going on. If it is not the tune, then you can decide to have them remove it for the sake of getting your vehicle serviced at the dealership without concern of "THE TD1". Otherwise, if you don't care about that or are not trying to hide anything, go to the dealer and get diagnosed?

I heard the dealerships can tell if the ECU has been flashed even if you flash it back before going in. I would contact the APR installer first.

I've had two cars flashed at Dubsquared and the second one I took back before the 30 days. It's not a lot but they will charge you "labor" if you opt for the refund. I'm pretty sure it's $100 if their labor rates haven't gone up.
I've had issues like you're describing before and it was almost always fuel related. A lot of the 93 around DFW doesn't seem very good. I was pulling a lot of timing on a 93 tune with 93 octane.
Before you return it I would suggest another tank of 93 and possibly a gallon of e85 to see if the fuel might be an issue. I also have a Vagcom cable if you want to see if you're throwing any codes or anything. I'm in the Mid cities area if you wanted to scan the car.

I was in contact with LEXUSF over the weekend. We're diagnosing the CEL, but we need to know what it's for first. For some reason, no code would display in APR Mobile, so I've made arrangements for a dealer to check. With the codes in hand, we should be able to help!
For what it's worth, and this may be related (The codes will let us know), we were able to get our own car to misfire / cause a CEL, and were able to solve it by gapping the plugs down. I've added a note to our website just last week stating APR recommends a plug gap of .024" +/- .002" for best results. We found inconsistent plug gaps from the factory, and at these high boost levels once chipped, sometimes it would misfire. By closing the gap on the plugs, the misfire went away. The stock boost levels weren't high enough to make it misfire, which is why we couldn't replicate the problem every time by switching back to stock.

I am in the area as well. Let me know if you need anything with the VagCom. I'll be over at dubsquared either tomorrow or Thursday.

When i went stage 1 apr it was running great until i went on a 6 hour road trip my fuel pressure was bad. I had it flashed back to stock and took it to audi. It took them more then a week but they fixed it and my car wasn't marked by audi. I think even if they know that you've messed with the ecu they cant void any warranty on the car because they have to first prove you tampered with the ecu and 2 that the tune was what caused the problem. Im runny stage 2 now and its been fine no problems since!

True. Plus if your car didn't get TD1 marked, that means they don't know it was tuned . Going the same route - getting flashed to stock and taking it in for routine maintenance + a couple of stupid minor things.

I spoke with LEXUSF and he had a code for random misfires. I told him to clear the codes and see if it happens again. If so, Engineering suggested the plug gap I listed above.

Do you suggest that only on the rs7??

All good today! So Arin is going to let me know which plugs may be better than stock and i already scheduled them to be replaced at Dubsquared in Arlington TX. I also went ahead and told them i want a drum of Fuel and took all they had left in 260 GT from Sunoco.http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/15/b4144394d9a9e8126bda6d62017bc46c.jpg

You are the man. I've been stewing about whether to load the trunk with cans of race fuel but thought that was too nutty until you just made it seem totally normal. That 6-pack of juice fits like a glove.

I just drove normal. I did once before on fuel for GT-R and I lived. Soon I will just deliver a drum to my garage and I'm all done! Issue I have with that is they don't take the drums back! So I just had to find 4 54 gallon drums a home! lol
