Looks nice!
Drove straight home and did my VCDS mods. The one that still will not take (did not in the RS either) is the door chime with door open when ignition on ... grrr :( At least the menu button kills it.
I should have some pix tomorrow and at least some more informed twisty-road driving impressions than I could render from the test drive. I do miss the RS steering wheel and exhaust note, but that is to be expected. What I do wonder, as I don't know exactly how it works, is does ANC cancel out just 4-cyl "noises" or would it effect aftermarket exhaust sounds inside the cabin as well?
From 4.0T study guide.
Active Noise Cancelation (ANC)
From the customer’s point of view, comfort and noise characteristics are just as important as the power of a premium class vehicle. A fundamental change in acoustics during 4-cylinder mode operation may be unacceptable to customers.
Which Noises Does the System Offset?
Since the engine compartment is sound insulated so well, few intrusive engine noises reach the vehicle interior. The majority of intrusive noises are emitted by the exhaust system. These drumming noises are reduced by switchable exhaust flaps in the rear mufflers. An additional source of disturbance is the sport differential.
Noises caused by road surface, airflow around the vehicle, or other external sources cannot be eliminated.
Signals are output to the speakers even when the engine is operating with eight cylinders. This is necessary in order to create a transition that is imperceptible to the passengers when the engine changes to 4-cylinder mode.
FWIW it says the system may be deactivated if you have B&O and open the window or sunroof...it does not say why though.

I have AWE exhaust on my S6. Sounds awesome. You don't hear it when you don't want to (cruising) but you definitely hear it when you accelerate. It screams when you really get on it.
The ANC was imperceptible before swapping the exhaust, and it remains imperceptible after putting on the AWE system.
I have the Bose system, but the ANC is basically the same on both systems. It was really designed to prevent your S6 from sounding like a WRX when in 4-cyl mode.
Thx, gents, for the ANC info. I don't notice any ANC interference or 4 vs 8 cyl mode either. I assume it is doing it's thing and I've not looked for the 4 cyl mode indicator ... not sure which screen in the center it's on yet.
Some pix on the way to the office ...

I too have the awe on my S7. You can definitly hear it when it switches into 4 cyl mode after the exhaust was installed. above 2k rpm its fine, but between 1300 and 1800 it doesn't sound to good untill it switches over back to 8 cyl mode. I was always wondering if the switching can be deactivated as i dont really care for fuel economy and try to keep my can in dynamic mode most of the time. After the apr tune and the exhaust the car is just a beast. Also you can tell if your in 4 cyl mode when you have the consumption window up and the line turns from silver to green, your in 4 cyl. Congrats on the ride looks sweet.
