Stage 2 was worth every penny. The car seriously moves now. I can't drive it slow! When I pass someone, it just hits 100mph from 60 so damn fast.
Achtuning did an awesome job! Very happy I didn't let the td1 scare get in the way. It's just way too much fun!
One question though, how do you guys launch it? I tried doing the break/gas, but anything over 2k rpms just rips forward. Wish I had launch control!

on my 2001.5 s3 2.7tt I keep rpm at 4k and let clutch out as I mash the throttle , just a tiny bit of spin as I launch.

No manual on the C7 A6 3.0t. OP, short of break/gas, not aware of any other way to do it. The fact that it wants to shift within a millisecond in 1st probably doesn't help the cause.

For my stock A7 I put in D/S take off traction control and mash the gas directly off the brake. Seems to work just fine as Quattro does its job!

Sweet! Can you elaborate more about the difference felt going stage 2? And what about the initial difference in stage 1? For an extra ~$500, i would think i would just go stage 2 from the start, assuming it doesn't add much to any risk of tune-related damage.

I didn't go stage 1. Went straight stage 2. But the car just pulls in every gear. The higher the rpm the harder it pulls all the way to red line. When u floor it, it seriously feels explosive, pushing you into the seat.
Theres definitely more grunt from low rpms too. I find it downshifting less when in D mode. S mode is just nuts now.
The transmission also feels like it's faster, but that could be a perception.

How much did you pay for the pulley install? I got crazy quotes north of 350 bucks. I thought to give stage 1 a try and then go up to stage 2. I have the exact same findings on stage 1 albeit for low rpm's for which you basically need the APR pulley.

I got in during the APR discount. For everything was 2k. I didn't really care how much the actual install was, so I didn't look.

I guess they charged you the same. In the end, it's worth it. I am very happy with the stage 1. Post videos if you get a chance!

Love Stage 1 but as is often the case "the more you have the more you want". Headed to Stage 2 next week. Will post my observations vs. Stage 1 soon.

Can't agree with you more! The 3.0T seems powerful enough - for now. But that makes me itch for the S6 - and once I get that I'll have the itch for the RS7 - I just know it's gonna happen. So I smother myself to keep the A6 . No more negative equity adventures for me :P

That's where I'm at now agent47. If I stumble across another CPO sub 15k S6 for under $60k, I'm tempted to just pony up a $10k deposit and and get into the S6 for essentially what I'm paying for my A6 now. On the other hand, I'm thinking $3-4k gets me Stage 2, an intake, and perhaps an exhaust, but will that satiate a growing desire to find a S6....

Honestly, I think the A6 is a great bang for the buck, even more so if you're tuned.
You're smart to avoid the negative equity adventures as they make zero sense financially. In my case, I just couldn't justify the additional 20k, not because I couldn't afford it, but because I just didn't think it was worth it IMO. When I looked at the price of the A6 with a Stage 2 tune vs. the S6' I felt it was enough for me. At 44, I only drive like a d-bag 30% of the time .. Hahahaha!
Trust me I've learned some of these lessons the hard way!

I learnt the negative equity lesson last year. And now I just wont do it again. Every single day a dbag incident happens with slow people in left lane and the tuned 3.0 is very adequate . I will definitely upgrade, but only when it seems a fair decision!

I could never go back to an A. S6 Drives nastier than a tuned 3.0 and it's still stock. Air suspension. The engine is just asking to be unleashed. When it gets tuned. Shit. definitely worth the extra 20K

Rs7 is even nastier. If I stick with audi, my next ride will be the rs7. I drive 24k miles a year. It made no sense to buy anything more than a6 due to depreciation. I'm considering the new cayman gt4. It was love at first sight.
