I'm so pissed at myself this morning. Got some curb rash on my HREs. It's just on the outer lip but it's a fairly large area (5-6 inches). Will HRE or another company be able to buff this out/repair it? Anyone have experience witht this? Cost? One of my other wheels has a small area that's similar so might be worth having both fixed when I take them off for winter.

Plenty of places that can fix this, but I would call HRE directly and see what they think is best. You might want to have them take care of it.

Shit happens. Only way to avoid it is to have a complete garage queen. For I while I said I would never put big dollar wheels on my daily driver S6, but I have decided that this car is a long term keeper for me (at least 6 years) so I took the plunge. My HREs should be here in a couple of weeks.

Thanks. I'll check with HRE. This car is my DD so shit is going to happen. Gotta pay to play. Just pissed I did it to myself.

if the call doesn't go will with hre, another option is a company alloy wheel repair. They come to your driveway take the wheel off and have fixed my hartmanns multiple times whether bent or rash. They also are pretty cheap 150/rim.

Definitely have HRE do it. They do repair and refinish wheels

I went through this recently. Disclaimer: prices or procedures may have changed since I looked in to this a couple months back.

HRE will fix them. If anyone else touches them , HRE warranty is voided.

If they have to disassemble 3 piece wheel to fix it, it is 100 for disassembly/reassembly. I think lip finish only is 100. Lip can be replaced if rash is too bad to be polished out without changing shape of lip too much. 200 for new lip, finish included. Plus shipping.

Also, they can refinish all the wheels or any parts of them if you want to make a change, and it is not unreasonable at all. That is one of the great things about having HRE's. And they are amazing and helpful to work with as well. Ask for Nick. He heads up repair/service dept.

I agree with dennisg. Definitely send it back to HRE for repair. They do great work and you'll have no issues with the warranty. I did exactly the same thing with one of mine last year. HRE charged $100 to disassemble and reassemble the 3-piece wheel and $150 to fix the curb rash on the outer rim and refinish and clearcoat it. Shipping was about $45 via FedEx each way with insurance. In examining the wheel I could not find the area they refinished. Great job.
