Run flats?
Don't bother with run flats, they're overly expensive and that's why you carry a spare. Get Pilot Super Sports... I'm counting down the days until I my stock PZeros die.

Will I get more than 20k miles?
What exactly are you looking for? Miles, performance, sound?

Who runs "run flats" now? Horrible road noise, mediocre performance. Pilot super sports : +1 to Nick. They are the best rubber around. Grips the road like super glue and carries a 30k mile warranty from Michelin . Nick - I had to elaborate on the story before it ended :-P

Can anyone comment on the road noise of the pilot super sports compared to the pzero . The road noise on coarse pavements is driving me nuts on the factory tyres. Tyre life is very dependant on driving style but how would people compare the life of the pzero to the pilot super sport.

Factory installed pzeros lasted me less than 20k miles. Road noise was horrendous. Super sports have comparatively less noise, way better handling. The steering feel will also change.

Road Noise? whats that? lol once my pzeros zeroed out at 8700 miles, they BLEW!! so loud and brick like ride.
my Pilot super sports are the best tire ive had on any car. OR TRUCK! biggest difference from stock to aftermarket tire choice. bar none no competition. forget about your wallet and think about your s6.....Michelin PSS is literally the only choice

The Michelins are a lot quieter than the stock Pzeros and handle better in the wet and dry to boot. Yes they carry a 30K mile warranty, but my first set lasted 13K. The good news is that I was able to take advantage of the warranty and the cost of my 2nd set was prorated by the warranty on the first. Do keep in mind that you have to have proof that you rotated your tires, or in my case the tire shop measured consistent tread depth across the tire at all 4 corners.

I'm at 19 thousand on the p zero and I drive fairly easy compared to others, I'm not cornering every turn. My left side tires are warn bad on the inside and the right side evenly through out. Audi did not align the wheels correctly so I'm going to see if they are going to give me a deal on the tires. Did anyone get the pilot as from Audi dealer and does getting tires from discount or ntb affect my tire and wheel package

Well it appears Michelins are the tire of choice. What size do you recommend for the factory S6 20inch. Currently I have original 255/35/20 pzero. Would you go up in width?
I don't think you can really go up in width on the stock 8.5 width wheels. I'm not certain though.

i went with the stock tire size as i believe most people will do. more then enough grip, and plenty of slip and slide when needed with perfected feel and enthusiasm.
if you are wanting another size, wider/taller you will be best off with aftermarket rims. the 8.5 stock width is just not what it really should have been. but im no audi engineer.

20x10 will fit some fat meat on there, put a little bit of low on those and your set with one hell of a sporty ride with excellent comfort.

A large factor why I bought S6 was for its sleeper style so personally I don't want to change rims. Can't wait for the pzero's to die.

I researched and looked at some reviews, I'm going to get Michelin pilot a/s 3 255/35 r20 97y. They are all season tires that are designed to still have sport feel of the summer tire but longer tread life. 45,000 miles, I drive 18k a yr, can't be going through tires every yr
