it was really bothering me my RS5 front license plate (Canadians gotta have it by law) - blocked that nice grill.

so i wanted more of the grill to show - i was able to use the factory mounts, and lower it - looks better to me.

Easy to do :)http://usedcustomcars.com/images/license-plate-moved.jpg

The beauty of the RS5 is that you can take it on and off. Not like other models that come with an obvious place for a plate. I have never been stopped for not having a front plate in Ca. Probably because of my bald head and white sideburns.... The young guy i sold my G37s to got stopped within a week. You have to drill holes in the front number to mount the license plate bracket.

Are you guys allowed to fit a smaller plate to the front?

We get a lot of Lambo's and Ferrari's with a reduced size front plate which measures 9" x 2.5" approx, I enquired about this option from the Audi dealership, it costs an extra $150 for the plate but it just requires a letter from them to say you are entitled to the reduced size plate.

I have just bought the Audi OE Japanese RS5 license plate holder which is a perfect match for the reduced sized plate, I'll post up some pics when I collect the car after my French vacation.

Not in the US either. Plate sizes are standardized in the entire country. I had a ROH Plate tow hook mounted plate for a bit but my wife hated it and we were convinced by several local Audi owners to remove it.

Your wife has good taste, at least when it comes to cars.

I am highly considering getting rid of mine. I originally had it mounted in the center. I then mounted it on the tow hook and I currently have it there. When I go out of state I can at least take it off. I would like to just take it off permanently and deal with the fine. That isn't the problem though, the problem is that getting stopped on the way to class would be a PITA and could make me late.
