I have an Adayo CEK402 double din head unit that I have recently installed and I'm trying to load a customised wallpaper as the background. When loading an image via an SD Card, the head unit will recognise it in the media playback section of the head unit and it will display the images but in the settings area, where you can load and select a customised wallpaper, it does not recognise any images on the SD card. I understand that this will most probably be a head unit specific problem but was just wondering if anyone has any ideas or tricks as I would imagine that my head unit operating system may be general to a few head units. This head unit runs Windows CE. As per the vendor's website (who I have also contacted regarding this problem), the images were formatted as JPG or BMP 16 bit 800 x 480 pixels.
The car is a 1998 Audi A4 B5.

Are you positive the model is CEK402? I can't find anything about it - the closest I can find on the manufacturer's website is a CE4K01, and a google search for CE4K02 shows people selling that unit but I can't find any support for it.

I would try couple of things. First, forget about jpg, use bpm. Too many things can go wrong with jpeg. When saving bpm, click on options and select RGB. Then dismount or "safely remove" the memory card before taking it out of your computer.

Thanks for the replies.
I got it worked out. The vendor got back to me and advised me to use a different SD card slot marked for "maps" for the GPS. My head unit has two SD Card slots, a general one which music and video can be loaded from and a slot marked "maps" which comes pre-loaded with a SD Card in it with maps for the GPS. The vendor advised me that it will look for wallpaper's from the "maps" slot.
So I put it in the maps slot, correctly formatted jpeg images would cause the head unit to crash. So I tried correctly formatted bmp images and was able to download them from the SD Card to the unit. In the process I managed to crack a SD Card (which stopped that SD Card working). They are micro sd cards, nearly impossible to get in and out and my fat fingers don't help.

That's standard for all Dynavin style head units. Oh, and only the nav part is Windows CE - the regular radio side (FM/DVD/MP3) is a proprietary OS that is completely separate. If you have two USB connectors on the back of the unit, one will be for the WinCE side and the other will be for the radio side.

Fortunately for me, both SD Card slots are on the front!
