Have you guys heard of this:

https://www.racechip-usa.com/chiptuning/Audi/S6/S6-%28C7%29/4-0-TFSI-309kw/

I am ordering 2015 X5 xDrive50 for my wife and people on BMW forums rave about this tuning.
I may be wrong, but since it is standalone computer, this should not throw TD1. Again, I may be wrong.

I wanna believe in Santa, but alas, I'm too old and cynical.

Have not heard of it. I see they have a unit for an RS7 and I like how they purport to have devised a product that is removable and doesn't monkey with the factory ECU. Sounds awfully good. Why don't one of y'all go get one and tell me about it??? :-)

Are you guys giving me shit because I am buying a Bimmer for my wife? LoL
Seriously, I had enough of this TD1 talk so I thought if you use a piggy-back computer, TD1 code will not be an issue.
I may not that old, but sure do feel old to start fresh researching another car brand.

^No, so long as you don't tell my wife. That said, I do not care for the new 2015 X5 body styling, kinda looks softened, rounded.

It's more the Racechip thing, which sounds like it should be in an infomercial. Hopefully, someone posts a real dyno pull and proves me wrong.

Ok, so I did some research and it seems the only people having really solid gains are the ones who are using this in conjunction with a turbonator. Might want to check out that too.

The most important question is whether it's compatible with black & decker leaf blowers?

14 day money back guarantee, if it makes power and isn't detectible, im sure a lot of people would buy it, its not that expensive either. I have a feeling though, it probably works like how ECU tuning groups box works, where its tricking the car to boost more. if it does make consistent power gains thought, id be a buyer. OP willing to be the guinea pig and try?

People over at audiworld A6 forum seemed to like the chipwerke piggy back unit. But seems to have risk of TD1 same as any other performance mod. What do you guys think?

I have the chipwerke piggyback on my car and LOVE it. It's simple plug and play, instant power felt right from the get go. I won't have the cool feature of valet or race mode but then again who cares? Check out this video

Do your research, while I have no independent knowledge I've read things that would cause me concern.

This was posted earlier in the thread but I'm linking again to make sure your read it as part of your due diligence. http://sjuut.dk/?RaceChip

If you're going to modify, why not stick with the proven methods?

I had the racechip ultimate installed in my c6 3.0tfsi! I felt the power difference but it took me ages to fine tune it to have the smooth power!

Time and time again these things have been tested and a lot of the times when they open them up and look at the electronics they actually don't do anything other than a proxy. Most of the electronics are for lighting up any LEDs it might have. If it were this easy APR wouldn't be around.

Was there a reason why you got rid of the chipwerke? Also is it worth it to upgrade to stage 2?

I didn't like the power the cw box was making, it was violent and felt abusive to my car. I threw cel lights and was burning oil like crazy. I went apr stage 2 the power is linear and delivered smooth. Stage 2 just bc it was on sale and why not, you get close to the same power on st 1 but that pulley adds grunt, whine and more torque. I also have roc-euro intake and awe downpipes the car is a bullet.

Did you have the downpipe and intake on the car with the chipwerke on the car? Just wondering

FWIW, one of the premier Audi tuners in the world, MTM, uses a piggy back. It is too bad they have such a poor presence in U.S. What happened to them here????
