3-4 times? Didn't know it took that long...
You may want to flash your ECU and see if you can't get some additional HP -- might make the ride better! ;)))

The owner's manual says to not go over 2/3 the top speed of the car for the first 1000 miles on the car.

For manuals I would just worry about keeping the revs low. You certainly will never reach 2/3 top speed.

That'd be 87 MPH with a top track speed of 130 MPH. Unless, you have software already. I hit 90 the other day, whoopsie... Haha.

this is a very heated topic and alot of guys have different opinions and methods on this.
Several people strongly believe in driving it hard to get the pistons to set in the sleeves well. There is a popular break-in method that involves driving at certain speeds in series. not sure on all the info but i'm sure someone can get a link. i'll search around and see if i can find it.
i got my A4 with 67 miles on it. For the first 400 miles - i varied the revs and speed just so get the engine used to the whole powerband. I'm definitely getting excellent power out of the engine now (3k miles) despite i dont drive it that hard.
