I acquired a black optics grill in a trade but it never occurred to me to ask if it was innovation ready (camera mount and hole for night vision camera) and it turns out that it is not.
I am wondering if my camera can be mounted to the grill. Does anyone know how the camera is mounted to the grill?
I could probably make a hole for the night vision cam.
Is the night vision cam mounted to the grill and if so, how? Is there are part on the grill for mounting the camera that I will not have? Or is it just mounted to something else behind the grill?
For someone who knows, do you think this grill can be made to work?
Thanks
Dennis

I too was wondering the same thing since I was looking into a new grill. I looked up a part tree for the grill and it looks like the black piece behind the Audi logo is removable so you could just transfer over the one with your night vision. I'm not sure about aftermarket grills but I imagine this is the case with the oem grills. I'm not sure about the other front camera.

Just curious. If your black optics grill doesn't work out for you, would you be interested in selling it? If so how much?

I believe you just need to trim the Black Optic grille in the same manner as your stock grille in order to transfer the front camera housing. Not sure about the night vision camera, though, as I do not have that option.
I still have to put my Black Optic S6 grille (with the front camera provision) for sale in the classifieds, but I can try to get a photo of it for you.

That would be great if you could provide a photo.

If it's Oem then it has 2 screws behind your rings and will let you transfer over the mount for front camera and night vision to new grill if it's aftermarket I don't think it's a direct swap. I had to swap my s7 grill pieces to the black optic rs7 grill I bought all went together nicely
