I want to lower my B8 S4 by approx. 1" to 1.25" while keeping the ride as comfortable as possible. Any feedback as to which of these kits has the most OE-like ride quality?
Truth or myth >> the KWs require a 15mm rear spring spacers to stop from sagging? The Bilsteins make annoying noises from the springs at low speeds?

Truth about the Bilsteins making noise. I was able to fix the noises with some Tein spring silencer rubber and some lithium grease. Annoying for a $2k system. Ride feels pretty good, but I doubt I'll be giving Bilstein my money ever again in the future.

KW coilovers will ride better than the factory suspension. The KW V1 for your B8 S4 (http://www.modbargains.com/KW-Coilovers-Audi-B8-A4-S4.htm) will give you the ability to adjust the height of your car with pre set damping rates. It will be slightly stiffer than stock, but in a good way. The car will feel more planted and you will have more control. You do not need rear spring spacers on the KW coils. We have done this install numerous times on the B8 & B8.5 A4/S4 without any issues!

Well it depends on how much you wish to lower the car with the KW coilovers. If one lowers by 1.2", then no spacer is needed. If one lowers by less than one inch, then yes,
the rear spring may need a spacer. The adjuster on the KW rear spring has much less adjustment range than the Bilstein PSS10, even though the rear springs are similar length.
If you want a softer ride then the KW Street Comfort coilover could be used.
The purple rear spring adjuster is the shorter KW (min 0.8" to max 1.6" length).

Kw all the way I had v3s on my old a4 and felt simply amazing. Much better than oem
Well i can't say anything about the KW's, but compared to the ADS setup the Bilstein pss10's are a huge improvement. I'm not sure on the comfort difference between the pss10's with manually adjustable coils and the IRC's. IRC's you can change inbetween settings and also fine tune each one on the fly which is awesome for tuning. The added auto setting is pretty slick also. It's a lil pricier set up but that's why we work.

The PSS10 Bilstein on the lightest damping felt like the stock s4 suspension.

I had kw v2 and pss10. Bilstein are miles better in comfort and performance. Pss10 u can adjust at any time without removing the coils. They r pricier but u get what you pay for. ANd kws for our cars dont seem to be that good especially with that sagging rear spring.

Are the pss10's still one of the best options 3 years later?

I'm running the PSS10 and love them. No issues and the coils don't make any noises. Its my daily and I usually run them around the number 5 setting. Running setting 1 would probably be pretty close to stock. When I do AutoX I change it to 10 once I'm there, then change it back to 5 for the drive home. It's very easy to change the stiffness, one of the reasons I went with these over the KWs.

Love my PSS10s, they do make noise. I bought some tine silencers, will install during summer tire swap. I've got a weird thud coming from the rear passenger, but I'm starting the think it's the ecode swaybar endlinks. I might switch back to stock to see if it fixes the issue.
Very satisfied with ride quality and adjustability. Also the 10mm minimum drop was perfect ride height for me. I sit 26.125" FTG and it looks amazing.

Well, I'm spamming every post I find about the KW stuff. The sagging thing is real. Had mine for about 8 months, sagging badly and no height adjustment to go up left. Otherwise great product. [up][:/]
