I sure hope you have something behind the grille, otherwise, you have a dipped radiator. [>_<]

Looks great by the way. I did my grille way back when and it's still done, definitely one of the best cheap mods you can do.

It came out good. Nothing on radiator. I sprayed at a very sideways angle. I checked radiator every coat to be sure with a flashlight.

But why.....Stands out more without the dip, just my opinion. I would never black anything out on these cars, to much luxury and class

Why? Because the stock grill is relatively (or a lot lol) ugly in some peoples' opinion. Going to do mine this summer too. For me it's the grey that bothers me more than anything.

OP, looks good! Not sure I'd have taken the chance on the radiator though but glad it worked out for you.

I bought the car for the sportiness more than the luxury.

You can use the gloss I think it is to make it more darker / less grey looking.

Because some owners(not me) like the blacked out look. I chose to paint my 2010 filler plate the body color and loved that look. On my 2014, I chose to cover the gray center area between the horizontal slats with black out tape. Now have a 2011 Phantom black. Filler plate is at the paint shop as we speak being painted Phantom black. Different strokes for different folks.

I love the look. I used plasti dip on two previous cars grills never had a problem with plasti dip in radiator.

The "glossifer" or whatever Fonzi calls it? I could see where that would darken it a bit but I think I want a duller finish. Just bought two cans of black at Home Depot for whenever I get around to this. I may wait until I can see one in person before I spend the time. I know at least one local person who has done it to his S7.

Yes. Peeled away just like paper with perforations. Easy!

let me tell ya, the rings are a pain in the ass! at least on the 8.5 grille....I think the ring portion is larger and the edge it sits on thinner....didn't cut away like the rest, but after some flash dipping/taping I got the inner portions smooth enough for my liking!
