What's a radiator?[rolleyes]
I dropped some cardboard down in front of it. Speaking of which i'm not sure i removed the cardboard after i was done....

Make sure you start a new thread when you dip the wheels.[az]

Looks great! Do you just peel it off the rings after you spray?

I kind of did the same. I had my grill painted with Rust-oleum and got bunch of chips all over so decided to respray with Plastidip: used titanium and pearlizer on top.

How is the durability of the plastidip? I am thinking of spraying an aluminum, bike rack tray with either enamel or plastidip.
Back to the OP... looks good. Did you experiment with spraying prior to this project? How easy/hard was it to do?

I wouldn't let my go to touch my car. Especially taping it. This is too precise job and she's like "whatever doesn't have to be perfect" haha

No plans to do the wheels, i have black an silver RS5 Reps, but i have done the wheels on my cars before, always looks good and pretty easy.

Yeah, just peeled the rings off.

That looks amazing. I actually sprayed some of the gloss/pearlizer on it half way through and it looked awful. I'm assuming i had an old/bad can, it came out almost grey, so i just covered it up with more matte black.

She was better at it than me....

I have used plasti before, but it's really easy stuff to use. I am not mechanically inclined.
I actually dipped my entire car one time.... and peeled it off when i was sick of it...

Wow... dramatic before and after.
How did it hold up to stones and rubbing? My application will be for some bike trays on a roof rack, which will have a thin profile to the road, but still be exposed to road crap. The rubbing is likely from the bikes as well as the mechanics of the rack itself.
Thanks!

It held up really well to stones, rocks etc. Best comparison to a bike rack would be the wheels and bumpers i dipped on my F150, they survived a Minnesota winter of driving across lakes and through ice covered snow banks. I would say dip the rack in as many coats as you reasonably can. Worse case you're out $40 and you peel it off it it doesn't hold up. Also I think Rustoleum makes a similar product that's more of a permanent solution if you wanted to go that route.
Dipped F150...

I am looking to Plasti Dip my stock peelers. Do you just take the wheels off and spray all over and thats pretty much it? Is there a certain way to do it? Sorry, just never done it before.
EDIT: Nevermind, saw some videos online, Looks pretty simple.

I have taken the wheels off an done it that way before. That's probably the cleanest/best way to do it if you have a jack and the tools.
However when i did my last 335i, I left the wheels on and it came out great. The Hubs and caliper were showing rust and looked awful, so i sprayed everything, drove forward a few feet (to rotate the wheels) and sprayed everything again... it turned out awesome and the excess plasti on the rotors just peeled away when i drove down the driveway :/

Do you have a link to the product you bought? I have to make my crash bar stay black, under my RS-style mesh grill. Whatever paint they used is starting to chip from rocks and bugs and road crap.

I usually just pick it up at Home Depot, in the paint section, but sometimes they're sold out. These guys obviously have it online too... https://www.dipyourcar.com/PlastiDip-Spray-All.html
