Next week if everything goes well im dropping off my car at Champion Motorsports to get a few things done one of them being dyno run. Im not sure though how i should go about the order of process of installing the parts and getting dynos.
These are my thoughts:
1. Getting Baseline Dyno
2. Installing the exhaust and then getting it dynoed again.
3. Installing software and getting it dynoed again.
My problem is though i dont know if i should install the software before the exhaust and get it dynoed or if i should install the exhaust first and then the software. I Think if i do the exhaust first i wont get a accurate reading on the software dyno numbers.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
Fernando

I think you're right in assuming that you wouldn't be able to isolate the gains from the software with the exhaust installed; unless they have some way of doing it? I suppose you could get your baseline, then get your exhaust on and take a "new" baseline to compare to your post-software dyno numbers -- should be able to get an OK reading that's close to what the software is really giving you, but IMO, they'll be "tainted," for lack of a better word.
How about this...
1. Get your baseline (i.e. with no mods)
2. Get the software installed and get a dyno measurement
3. Install the exhaust and "turn off" the software mod -- get the 3rd Dyno measurement -- turning off the software should isolate the exhaust numbers for you, no? All you have to do is turn the software "off" before they dyno with the exhaust on.
At any rate, when you DO get your numbers, be sure to post them along with what you had for softare, brand & model of exhaust, etc. A few of us talked about doing this in another thread (well, OK, me mostly) and creating some sort of Quasi database of information from everyone's dyno posts. I'll search for the thread and post the reference...

Here's the thread reference...see the last few posts...

(not sure if I'm doing this right -- just went to the thread and copied & pasted the link from my address bar...)

Well im going to be running MTM software most probably...
Im gonna try to see if i can Get a baseline dyno for sure, then install the exhaust get a dyno and remove the exhaust again and install the software run a dyno and then install the exhaust and software and do another run.
If i run MTM software there is no way of shutting off the program so i would have to do it this way.
I will keep you all posted for sure as things come about.
Im scheduled to install my PSS9 soon and also put in my AWE gauge and do baseline dyno then i will see what will happen with the install of the exhaust and the software....the exhaust is sitting in my house waiting to see what my final decision is, its a MTM exhaust by the way.

You should possibly be putting down numbers near your old MTM stage 3 setup. [up] Can't wait to see the results. Any pics of the exhaust? How different is it from the B6? What are the claimed gains for the chip, exhaust, and combined?

The exhaust is the same one off my B6.... and they claim 260 hp with exhaust and chip if this is tru then i should be having some fun in my B7. Lets see what happens.
