So I'm looking for an eBay intercooler, or one of comparable price for my sister's car so she can run an S4 bumper. The one that's on her car now is monstrous and is way too much, and it won't even fit with the S4 bumper on..

She drives a 99' AEB 1.8t with a k04-015, 440cc injectors, and United Motorsports tuned ECU. I have no idea what intercooler is on it, but it has 2.5" piping I think. krauto diverter valve

I've read that 2.25" intercooler kits are the best to run for a set up like this. I've been searching on eBay for a while and the only thing I can find is 2.5" not really having any luck finding any 2.25" intercoolers.

Here's a pic of her car with this abomination of an intercooler

Any help is greatly appreciated, I know this is a common question but not a lot of topics cover eBay intercoolers with these specs. Plus I drive a 2.8 so this isn't my area of expertise [:/]

For a K04, get a CXracing core from Ebay

If your reusing the piping, you could always use reducers.

What bumper did it have before? I was under the impression s4 bumpers have the largest space for ic. (Ie if it fit the a4 bumper its gona fit the s4)

So the 2.5" core with the kit? Or piping from elsewhere you suppose?

This was the bumper before

An S4 bumper should fit that intercooler... Probably have to chop the support a bit but it should fit... Take a look at how big the S4 guys intercoolers are.

Grab the bumper and give it a shot before you spend 300 bucks on an intercooler. FYI I have a 2.5" intercooler on mine behind the A4 bumper but its a few inches shorter.

Yeah the problem is on the bottom right it pushes on the "pillar" of the s4 bumper and ended up cracking it. The piping is also very large and set up awkwardly so it pushes itself out so much that we can't install the grills.

I was thinking maybe if we were to cut up the piping to get it to fit better it would work, and then I would have to relocate the cooling line that is in front of the radiator and intercooler as well, but honestly this intercooler is just over kill. I think it's either 3" or 2.5"

Remember if you hack up the piping you will disrupt flow. And these front mounts loose about 1-2 psi to begin with
