I am on my second S4 with the B&O system and I thought I knew everything about it in regards to adjustments. I have had this one for about a month and I was going through the settings and noticed a selection called Input. It was at mid level so i turned up to max to see what it did. Whole new stereo! It sounds like I added another amp. I don't know if this feature was on my 2011 and honestly I don't know why they even have this option (just keep it at max all the time) but I wanted to let you guys know in case you did what I did.

Where is this adjustment located?

Is this something new in the 2013-2014 units? I've found no such adjustment in my 2012 B&O.

When you go to settings it's under the B&O selection, then you will see Input. I guess it must be new to the 2014's because I don't ever remember seeing it on my 2011.

Unless I am missing something with your description, my 2012 definitely has this. I was having issues with my iPod input level and changed it.

Yeah, maybe it is only an option with the ipod playing. I will have to check it out when I get back in the car.

I think it has to do with the default volume of the device your playing music from. On older systems you could control the volume from the vehicle, and the IPOD. Now they usually lock the ipod/device at a fixed volume so the only control is through the car.

It's probably just maxes the output volume of the ipod so the system seems louder at a lower car volume level.

You are right, it shows up on all input sources. I'm glad I figured it out though. Sounds much better turned up.

Hit the Media button on the console, then Settings in the MMI, then Setup on the console. New menus will pop up on the screen, including input level.

It's not on my 2012.

If you hit Media, there is not a "Settings" option on the MMI. You have the option of going into the "Sound" menu (in the lower right of the MMI) but that doesn't have "Set up" as an option.

Can someone that has this give a clear set of menu options/sequence that they used to get there...take a pic maybe?

Sorry, you're right, it's "Sound," not "Settings." Once you're in the Sound screen on the MMI, hit the "Setup" button ON THE CONSOLE, NOT IN THE MMI, it's a physical button down by the shift knob.

So it goes Media --> Sound --> Setup (physical button, not on MMI)

for those without nav, you hit the Media button and switch to whatever input source (like something connected to the AMI). Then you hit the "Setup" button (the actual physical button on the right of the scroll wheel), then you select the "Input" option.

The issue i'm having is that it doesn't save the volume setting. keeps going back to the middle every time i turn off the car. Tried to find a way to set it via Vagcom like you can do for startup volume on the radio, but couldn't find anything.

Mine stays where I set it. Didn't do anything through vagcom or otherwise.

What about on the B8.5s with the simplified MMI? We have no physical Setup button.

I'm seeing neither a sound nor a setup button. Help?

Can't help you there, can only speak to the setup on my B8.

B8 Setup button, to the left of the control knob on the console -

Do you have a smart key? If so, after you set the input, press "set" then "1" as if you're re-setting the position for your seat memory. This usually works for me.

BTW, I don't see this in my 2014.

I have not checked on mine yet but I'm guessing it's for the input through the glove box most likely. NOT the input level for CD's, SD cards etc. You've got to be listening to music through the port in the glove box...

That seems to be the case. I found it on mine but only w my ipod connected and playing did the settings screen bring that up. For Sat and AM/FM it wasn't an option.

I would really love to adjust the input levels on the bluetooth streaming versus the SD card versus the radio... All of the Input levels, even playing the exact same songs from the same mp3 (I,e., an mp3 copied to an SD card versus streamed) are all different levels. Dramatically different!!!!
