Hi Folks, I did some searching and could not find any real information about the keyless entry feature for my car.
Anyone out there have some easy to follow steps on how to use this feature?
Thanks in advance

Grab handle to unlock. Touch the little square on any handle to lock

I was recently at a conference. The speaker at the podium finally got his powerpoint slides on the screen and says "what do I do now?" I yelled out: "start talking".

I presume you are referring to the Advanced Key feature, and not use of the buttons on the remote key fob.
The door is unlocked by putting your hand between the door handle and the door, as if you are going to grab the handle to pull the door open. There is a sensor on the back side of the door handle that detects the proximity of your hand and triggers the door to unlock. Sometimes mine takes half a second to activate. Note, you do not have to actually touch the handle to trigger the unlock action.
To lock the door, hold your hand in front of the small rectangular contour on the outward-facing surface of the door handle which will trigger the door to unlock. Again, the sensor works on proximity so you do not have to actually touch the rectangular section to trigger it.
NOTE: In order for the above actions to work, the key fob must be near the car. I'm not sure what the actual range is....typically mine is in my pocket. But I know that if I have it sitting ~6 feet away from the car and spray it with a hose (like when I am washing my car at home), the contact of the hose water on to the rectangular "lock" sensor will cause the car doors to lock repeatedly.

Only cars with push button start have that feature, kind of silly imo

Yeah you have to be within like 3 feet of the door that you want to open. If i'm standing by the drivers door and my wife grabs her handle the car won't unlock. It's not just a generic distance from the car, it's from the actual door your trying to open.

Curious...
On my S4, I have all the physical components there like the black square etc on the door handle...not sure on the other triggers...
IS this something I can unlock with VAG COM?
Realistically it's not a major concern because I need the key regardless to start the car.

I do not believe so. The The square on the door handle is there because they standardized on one plastic mold across the entire product line of B8 A4/S4, regardless of whether the car is equipped with the Advanced Key guts.

Ah ok - looks like it needs that extra radio for the FOB -> kinda like NFC but up to 5'
It was one of those options when I was buying where it was nice to have but not a game breaker.

Just bought a 2010 s4 and can't get mine to work. The pass aged side locks and unlocks fine but the drivers side only unlocks. Any idea why it won't lock from the drivers side?
