APR Exhaust ID tag location

APR is replacing my left side muffler for the dreaded rattle. They offer to send out a replacement without the defective one in their hands which is pretty decent but there were conditions. I've done all that's been requested so far; sent the invoice, made a youtube of the sound the thing makes and now I am suppose to send some sort of laser etched ID that is on the rear mufflers. I can't find any such number. Scrubbed it clean and still no number. Anybody know exactly where this number is suppose to be located? Could it be on the top side? I don't see how these mufflers could be in installed in reverse. APR tell me it's on the bottom somewhere. I bought this fairly early on, Dec 2010.

What did they say when you told them you don't/can't find this plaque? Maybe PM Arin to get him to look into this for you. Seems it's hit and miss with them on some things until you get a higher-up to look into matters.

wonder what is up with the left muffler, mine is bad also, and there have been many others with a bad left one. The tag is on the rear of the muffler etched on from what i remember.

It's on the back side of the muffler right next to where the pipe goes into it

The welds don't penetrate through, guess it was fixed and only on early exhausts

Thanks, all, for the info. I was looking on the underside and I'm working off rhino ramps so a bit challenged. I'll break out the WD40 give it a scrub and take a look tonight.
