Hi All,
I am stumped. I replaced my thermostat and after buttoning everything up the car will not run properly and the check engine light will starting blinking after a few seconds or running. I have pulled the codes and get the following VAG error codes:
00514 ignition point sensor G4 sporadic or no communication
00768 rear heater core temp sensor G154 sporadic upper limit exceeded
00770 coolant temperature sensor at radiator outlet G83 sporadic or upper limit exceeded

I've checked the following with no change to symptoms:

-all wiring and connectors in the area of the thermostat
-all fuses and fuses in the ECU box
-replaced crankshaft position sensor G4
-reset APR to stock mode
-reset throttle position

The car is a 2006 A4 2.0T , stage 2+ APR

Any ideas? are these sensors on the same harness? have I fried something?

Any help much appreciated!!

Those temperature codes make me think that the coolant isn't circulating in the engine block. Did the amount of coolant drained equal the amount of G12 you added? Did you bleed all the air out of the system?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did out equal amounts in. But the car has not run enough to circulate the coolant, which is why I focused on the crankshaft sensor figuring it was wiring to that or the sensor itself.

Make sure to open the bleed screw on the top hard pipe. Also helps to squeeze the lower rubber hose.
