I would love to use my Torque app with a touchscreen, bluetooth, android based receiver.

Has anybody found a suitable receiver?

Obviously, GPS, Handsfree calling, voice control a must.
Back up camera would be nice.
Tethering the phone for internet, email ditto desirable.

The Dynavin android units work with Torque - just google for "dynavin torque". I'm pretty sure the Parrot Asteroid Smart will also work with Torque.

I am hoping that built in canbus connection works with current torque or could be integrated via minor software tweak

Friend couldn't get his Dynavin to work (and now fried in the process); several install places send him away and "won't touch".
It probably CAN be made to work, but little support available it seems.

You just sideload the app, as far as I know. The Torque app can't kill a head unit.

That's my problem: my skill set with radios is by far NOT on par with my other 'car skills'. I don't even know what sideload means. I preferably tackle radio installs with a plug and play harness and detailed DIY instructions printed out on hand. Does this exist for the Sion SA-706?

Sideloading is an Android term for installing an app. It's unrelated to installing the radio. Installing a Dynavin is plug and play because they are sold with all the necessary cables to interface with the car harnesses. I don't know what the Sion SA-706 is, so I can't help you with that.

That is the model the OP referred to, and links are pointing to. Android 4.2.

I have no idea what cables come with that particular unit. You should check out the A4 B7 board and read the "show me your navigation units" thread.

Newegg is also offering it. And unlike the Dynavin 99 (I just emailed them, this is available for C5 A6/Allroad.
