I have a 2014 S5 and do about 24,000 miles a year... so my Factory warranty will be gone in about 2 years. It kinda scares me to have zero warranty after 2 years and I plan on keeping this car a while. So if I did extend it, I would go with the 100K mile option.

Here are my 2 options:

Platinum Coverage 100K / 4 years - $2926.00
PowerTrain 100K / 4 years - $2039.00

So those would cover me for an additional 2 years with the miles I do.

How do these cars do after the factory warranty? Are extended warranty's popular among you guys? Any thoughts in general would be great - thanks!

The Pure Protection warranties add onto the mileage / date when you buy them. So if you buy with 24K miles on the car, the 100K warranty goes to 124K miles, not 100K, assuming the time doesn't expire first. I waited until just before 25K miles to get it extended out as far as possible as I also drive quite a bit.

The pricing ratchets up at 10K miles and 25K miles. It doesn't make a lot of sense IMO to buy at say 15K miles since the price will be the same as buying at 24,999 miles but you will only extend the same 100K to 115K miles instead of 124,999 miles. In other words, try to buy right before 9,999 miles or 24,999 miles if going with Pure Protection. Prices also differ based on deductible. I went with Platinum / $250 deductible. There are exclusions if you modify the car and you have the same risk as original Audi warranty of non-coverage if Fidelity decides your modifications caused an issue that results in a warranty claim. I doubt too many enthusiasts that modify their cars buy extended warranties for this reason and some think they are a waste of money. I don't want the risk of DSG or sport diff repairs while I own the car so I stayed stock and bought the extended warranty. I had a previous Lexus with big a/c repair bills between 100K and 125K so I went platinum as far out as possible.

The "Platinum" and "PowerTrain" coverage is directly from teh dealer, not Fidelity. Zero deductions...

This is from the dealer direct.

Dealer sells fidelity or another product. There is no extended warranty underwritten by Audi except CPO. Maybe your pricing is for zero deductible.

Damn 24k miles a year?! At least you get to drive that thing like it was meant to be. I'm jealous.

If you plan on keeping it stock I would go with platinum.
