IMP Question - cel on for no cars ??

Im looking to buy a 2003 S8 that's very tasty - ming blue - white interior anyway ,, the owner says that the cats where getting bad so he removed them , and he says because the cats are off the cel comes on ? now im in CT and the car is in FL I don't want some shmuck wasting my time and I cant Vag the car over the phone - so does the cel come on if the cats are removed on the S8???

Keep looking. If the cats failed something caused that to happen. Yeah the light may come on ,but the rest of the engine is not getting the proper info to run properly.

he removed the cats that's all - he says the car is 100% - I just didn't know if removing the cats will set off the cel ? - so removing the cat does set off the cel????
