Every time I slow down and almost come to a stop at approximately 1000 rpm's I feel the car shudder...like the car might stall out but never does...almosts feels like the shudder of BMWs that turn off engine when it comes to a stop and starts back up again but not quite as bad.

Is this normal or should I take car in and get it looked at???

It might be the car dropping into 1st gear. That's around the time it drops. If you turn on the gear selection in the DIS with a Vagcom you'll see it. Mine doesn't shutter usually. I'd get it looked at.

I would get it looked at. I've never felt that and pretty sure no one is going to tell you that is normal operation. Like mentioned above, if it is the car just downshifting though, get used to it lol.

I don't get this... I'm assuming you have 6MT and not DSG right?

I am guessing you have a DSG, i get it every now and then.

Try putting it in "S" vs. "D".... This downshifts more aggressively (at higher RPM's). See if you experience the same issue. Keep in mind that this car has a dual clutch and not a typical torque converter. The clutch stays engaged into the lower RPM's before releasing in the less aggressive drive modes. While the DSG is very nice in terms of around town driving its not a typical slushbox auto. I'm not discounting your issue but give this a try first. What year is your car?

I get it too... Only DSG cars have it I know we aren't the only ones to experience this

seems like several of us have this issue...next question, did you just accept this or did anyone go to dealer and try to get it fixed???

I only get it in sport mode I'm pretty sure. Aggressive downshift.

Could be the mechatronics unit, a known failure mode for the transmission. The B8 has shorter gearing (it's faster 0-60) and thus has more differences in ratios when shifting a low speed. The programming on the b8.5 also changed (likely clutch control etc), a B8.5 will feel smoother than a B8 when creeping or driving at low speed.

I always get that little lurch, no matter what mode the car is in (comfort, normal or dynamic) since I got the car. Wasn't sure if it was just the quirky characteristic of the DSG downshifting or an actual issue (mechatronic?) Would happen literally right before coming to a complete stop. Does it everytime.

Decided to have dealer check it out a few weeks ago and they gave me the standard response of it being a DSG, and blah blah blah... but that it's normal. They told me I need to drive it more for the car to "learn me" (got it at 63km, now at 70km.) Said I should drive it another 10-15 thousand km before re-visiting. That will take me well into 2015 [:p]

I only get it occasionally when I slow roll up to a stop light. Seems I had it more when I first got the car, so perhaps I have changed my driving.

That's what troubles me the most about this car, is the inconsistency. Recently I have been driving mostly in dynamic, and sometimes it shifts hard, other times its smooth as silk. I wouldn't say I feel a shutter when stoping, but I can "sometimes" definitely feel clutch activity.
Feels like its under the back seats area, and I hear a little clunk with a tiny jolt.

The more time I spend in dynamic, seems to smoother out.

There's another thread regarding a TSB on fixing the "rough idle" problem... I wonder if this is related.

I talked to my SA today regarding that and he said my car duesnt qualify for it although my car is a 2011

Don't think my cars issue relates to this though.
