So I've been tracking the ship that has my car on it (Paradise Ace), and ever since the 26th it's basically gone dark on the vessel tracker sites. It hasn't been updated since that day. I understand why, there is no land between where it was (off the coast of the Azores) and where it needs to go (Davisville, RI). But the itinerary says it's supposed to get to port on March 30, which was yesterday, and still no update on these sites. Has anyone run into this before? Are ships typically late getting to port? I totally have ants in my pants, can't wait for this car to get here.

Sometimes they are late. 4 days to get across the Atlantic is very little time.
I tracked my car across the ocean too, but it took the ship about 8-9 days to cross and appear back on radar on our side of the pond.

How did you all find out what ship it was on? My dealer couldn't (wouldn't?) give me any detail except updates on delivery date.

Go to http://www.pwl.de/en, this is the company that does the shipping for VW/Audi. Where it says "Liner Schedules", select "West-and East Coast USA" and in the second drop down select "Volkswagen Logistics Ro/Ro". A schedule will then pop up in PDF and you can see which ships are scheduled to leave Germany and hit the US. I knew the dates my car was leaving and when it was expected to hit Davisville, RI, so I figured it was on Paradise Ace according to that schedule. From there you can track any ship for free online.

If it was on the ship travelling across Lake Michigan, I got some bad news...

Check marinetraffic.com. The Paradise Ace is a few hundred kilometers SE on RI, but no ETA.

Yeah they just updated that a few hours ago for the first time in days. My dealer just told me to expect a week delay because the boat got delayed. How does a boat get delayed? Is there traffic? I don't get that. I'm selling my Q5 on Thursday so I'll be out a car longer than I expected, wish I knew this information before I made the deal for my car on Saturday.
Thanks for the tips guys.

Good luck once you get it! Which dealership are you getting it from? My parents live in Hatfield so I pass by your area occasionally.
