Went in to get my 45k service done and complaint about the squealing brakes (I'm out of warranty). I had brakes done around 32k so it still had life left. Long story short, my SA (awesome guy) was able to get Audi to approve a new UPDATED/CONVERSION brake kit (rotors, pads, bolt carrier, fluid and some other minor items) under TSB 2027636/7. He said I had the outdated kit when I had the brakes done. No squealing after driving 100 miles, even when it's cold out [:D] I may need to "bed" it as the initial bite is not as good.

So, if your brakes are bothering you it may be worth a try. Good luck.

Sounds to me Audi possibly revised the pad compound which could give you a different bite and also fix the harmonic sound production.

Other than the TSB I don't have anymore info. Also notice the pads are not producing as much dust, my other complaint[drive]

This did not work on my 2013 s4. All they did was "clean" the brakes.
Is it normal that I feel like my brakes are more responsive after they cleaned it?

alldatadiy has it in there. The latestest S4 model year that you can purchase is 2011. It may not apply to all S4s though. It talks about being built before June 20, 2011 and after that date until Sept 3, 2012. For the replacement of discs and pads your car had to of been built prior to 20 June 2011 and not received any repairs. As far as the others, looks like they are only supposed to lube the guide pins to the caliper.

This doesn't apply to B8.5 S4's
This is for B8 S4's and B8 S5's
All new front brakes, but pads have to be above 7mm

I had the same TSB brake update done on my car. They will still squeak. Give them time. If you really want to get rid of squeaking for good and don't track your car, throw some ceramic pads on. You will also get the added benefit of much less brake dust.

Yeah they gave me this update during my 35k mile service. It just applied to the front brakes, but kinda nice to have all new calipers pads and everything.
