I've done countless forum and google searches and havent been able to get a clear an answer to my questions about the subwoofer. I have the non-b&o system and the stock subwoofer has been making a weird noise every time it hits and id like to replace it. Im planning on putting a 10" sub in place of the stock one. Now my questions.

If i were to use the stock amp and just swap the sub, can i expect the bass to be louder, deeper, etc? Im not looking for anything that will cause the car to rattle, but something a little more than stock.

Regarding just replacing the subwoofer and not adding an amp, what ohms should the sub be?

I know obviously it will sound much better with an aftermarket amp. If i were to go this route, would i be able to simply tap into the wires that plug into the stock sub or should i use the wires before the factory amp? Ive read lots of different opinions and would like a clear explanation of how to wire it.

Lastly, recommendations on where to get an inexpensive sub and amp that will work well with this application.

Thanks guys.
