I just picked my car back up from the dealer and I have another little issue happening - I've lost the ability to control the MMI through the steering wheel
Some background on the issue
Currently all items work in the car except for the wheel functions communicating to the mmi
Optical bus shows everything is ok
I used VAG-COM to look at the wheel and I can see that the buttons are functioning as they register a signal to VAG-COM
I have a 2006 a6 avant with MMI 2g
I recently updated to SW version 46.10 straight from 11.9 using the "repair kit" discs from audi.
Previously I took the car in to get the new Bose amplifier re-programmed by the master computer (protection lock); when they brought the car out the drivers window controls stopped working - so they took it back in, tooled with it somehow, and brought it back out with the window working - BUT - someone backed into my car in the work bay; so they have had the car the last week in the body shop. So whether this issue stems from the original programming issue I don't know. I know I will probably have to take it back to them but its a 40 min drive in light traffic and if there is something I can do with VAG-COM at home I would love that option... that is if someone is familiar with the issue
