Hi All,

I am planning to buy a LUK flywheel and Sachs clutch kit(pressure plate, disc & throwout bearing) for my 98 AEB FWD.

Upon research, I saw lots of threads on various forums regarding the two brands and couple of them caught my attention.

The thread below says that LUK Flywheel and Sachs kit goes well together;

But this one here says that LUK flywheel only goes with LUK clutch kit (not for audi though, but still OEM parts should be interchangeable??)

Can someone please confirm this for a B5 whether LUK and Sachs OEM clutch components are interchangeable or not?

Transverse cars have a different clutch and flywheel than ours so what applies to them doesn't necessarily apply to us. The LUK dual mass is an OEM replacement, meaning any clutch that fits the OEM flywheel will work. Why not get the Valeo single mass kit though? The whole kit costs about as much as just the LUK flywheel.

Thanks for the reply.

I would stick with the dual mass flywheel, not really a fan of clutch chatter and extra vibrations that a single mass flywheel brings.. :)

The valeo single mass is heavy enough that chatter isn't an issue, I can guarantee you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the valeo flywheel and a new dual mass if you drove the same car with both back-to-back. But the choice is yours, if you got the money go for it.
