I have tried searching without much luck. Will an A6/TT Key fob (4D0 837 231 M) work with a 2001 A4? This key fob came with the car and I can not get it to program. From what I can find the only application for this fob is the A6 or TT. Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you,
Steve

I'm pretty sure it won't, key fob is totally different, I have a B5 myself

I use a key fob from an Allroad just fine. The key is to get one that is the same model year range. You can also cross reference with Audi and your car VIN as to whether it works or not.

pretty sure it will work, I buy my fobs from wholesalecarkeys.net they are aftermarket and mine has a6 tt stamped inside when you split them. Only thing is they all have trunk buttons and that feature does not work on our b5s

I am pretty sure it works on my avant

thats cause the avant has an electric motor to pop the hatch, the trunk locks on the sedan are vacuum actuated. The facelifted euro trunks had soft touch entry where a 3 button fob would pop the trunk on a sedan just not in north america.

Alright, thanks guys. The battery in this one may just be toast. I can get the old one to program when I clear everything, but the newer 3 button fob will not work.

Thanks again,
Steve
