Hey Friends,

I am installing two 10" Alpine SWR subs with an Alpine MRX-M110 in the trunk this weekend and would like to run the remote knob from the trunk to the center console (ashtray, cointray, etc) inconspicuously. Does anyone have any wiring suggestions to make this happen?

What car are you putting it in?

Edit: From your other posts it sounds like an A5. I don't know how the interior is on them, but I know in the B7 A4 it's easy enough to run a wire under the rear seat and under the arm-rest, from there you can either put a knob under the arm-rest or go all the way to the front. You might have to ask in the A5 sub-forum to get more specific info.

I did this and wired the subwoofer control knob off to the side of the little pocket under the steering wheel where you can put your owners manual.
It's very easy to just lean forward a little to adjust it yet it's not visible to anyone else.
I prefer it that way.

Here's mine.

I saw that install. looks great. I've got an S5 and my ashtray compartment isn't as large. I already have an Sti-r plus controller there. Prepping to add a sub and keep it as clean as possible. What is that faceplate made of in yours?

gotcha. Hmm i'm not sure what i'll do with the knob yet. Not sure i can incorporate it there and not crowd the compartment....the pondering continues

A dial in the centre console is quite easy to do in the A4, A5 can't be much different.
Rear seat base out and feed under the carpet, 3 or 4 screws under the air vent to lift up the console.

Seems simple enough. Getting to the knob in that location while driving seems like it could be inconvenient or uncomfortable....your thoughts on ease of use?
