Go to audiusa.com and verify colors yourself.
Dolphin gray is more gray, more towards dark gray.
Quartz gray is bit more shiny and less towards dark gray but more towards silver.
Dolphin gray is very popular these days, looks sporty. I chose quartz gray because I didn't have a choice but I love it. It seems bit more shiny but dolphin gray looks bit more sporty.

I chose dolphin gray over quartz and I love it. Thats just me though, some people like the lighter color of quartz gray. Either way, you're getting a damned fine car.

I have quartz grey metallic and love it. It will actually change colors based on the lighting. Sometimes it is silvery, sometimes grey, sometimes even blue. If you look carefully at the paint with a very bright light you can see the little flecks of blue pearl that give it the blueish tint.
Here are before and after shots of the rear diffusor I had installed...taken about 3 hours apart. Look how different the color is in the second shot now that the sun has changed position...and no, it's not the camera [:p]

The only real negative to quartz grey metallic is that it is definitely the most common B7 color, if that sort of thing bothers you.
Here's another full shot.

Both are nice. Quartz is one of my favorite colors right now, but it's a little too close to my current car's color so I went with Moro Blue on my B7. Dolphin is nice too, just a bit darker than Quartz.

Hey Jsamans,
Who makes that diffuser and where did you get it? I like it.

Votex makes them for Audi (it is Audi branded) -- I got it from ECStuning.com...or if you want to pay more for it you can get it from the dealership. [;)]
It was $250 from ECS and another $200 for paint and install.

Now that I've taken a look at the other body things by vortex, I really think the rear diffuser is the only piece I like. The jury is still out on the lip spoiler. I'm not sure I like how far it wraps around and how it looks from the rear. The side skirts never did it for me on the B6 S4, they don't do it for me on the B7. [down]
Anyone else with thoughts on the vortex line? Also, if anyone else sees any alternatives to classy spoilers for the B7, I'd love to see em. I'm currently contemplating getting a B7 S4 rear trunk lid. I like the difference, I must confess. [up]

It's Votex, not Vortex. And it's good stuff. All high-impact plastic, and fitment is usually very good. The parts are made for Audi by outside bodykit manufacturers.
For even better/easier fit, and my personal preference, is for the S-Line bumpers. More subtle, but my favorite look so far. Although more expensive, as they're not just skirts.

I ordered the three piece spoiler the same time I ordered the valence. Even got it painted. Was on the fence about it for a long time, but ended up selling it to another quartz grey B7 owner. Just didn't seem to fit in right with the car. That said, I have seen one on a white B7 and it looked good.

I am not a fan of the S-Line parts, if only because they are identical to S4 parts. In my opinion it cheapens the image of the S4 to have a car that costs a little more than half the price that looks almost exactly the same. I think they should have used the Votex pieces on the S-Line and left the S4 unique.
Of course I may have ended up with a different opinion if the S-Line was available when I bought my car [;)]

Of course I may have ended up with a different opinion if the S-Line was available when I bought my car [;)] I agree they should have done something different and not used the exact same parts from the S4. That's weird. But to me, there just isn't anything better looking. A regular/stock A4 just can't hold a torch when sitting next to an S4 (and now S-Line). The parts are just so much meaner and more agressive looking. Although I do love the rear bumper Votex center valence. But even then it looks a lot like the S-Line piece but with the cutouts. I may have to throw that on my car. It looks great on yours. I have another few mods in mind I'd like to do when my A4 arrives.
