Hello,

I know the brackets I need are 8N0615125. The brackets I have are 8N0615125A, at least according to the Audi box they came in, I can not find a part number on the brackets to confirm this. The brackets appear to be for a dual or quad piston caliper.

So I guess my question is: Is 8N0615125A a valid Audi part number for a caliper bracket and what is the application?

Let this be a warning for anyone else looking at doing the upgrade to make sure they order 8N0615125 and not 8N0615125A. There are a few post out there showing 8N0615125A as the correct bracket to order.

Thank you,
Steve

Yes, 8N0615125A is a valid part number. That is the Front Left caliper bracket for a Mk1 Audi TT with the 3.2 VR6 engine.

The popular "TT/A8" upgrade for a B5 A4 utilizes Mk1 TT front brackets, but they must come from the 1.8T model.

MK1 TT 3.2 uses a dual piston caliper, 334x32mm rotors, and the brackets are different side to side.

I ordered mine from ECS, no issues.

Thanks guys. Ya I figured out they are from the V6. Let this be a warning to make sure you get 1.8T brackets

*VR6. It's "special".

And I was pretty sure that I figured out they were from the VR6. You know...just based on my posting that fact a mere 43 minutes after you asked. But feel free to take the credit, if you wish. It's all you, bro.

Thanks for the info walky. Unfortunately I did not see your post as I do not frequent this forum all that much.

The centrix brake website is really good for info on calipers and rotors dimensions. That's where I ended up finding the information.

Now since we want to be technical. The caliper brackets are also used on the R32 Golf's since they share drive trains with the Audi TT's that use an engine with a W6 cylinder configuration.

Thanks again to walky for his prompt response. And to everyone else who wants to put D2 A8 front brake rotors on B5 make sure you use the brackets from an Audi TT with a 1.8T motor.

Thanks, Steve. I was just yanking your chain.

Out of curiosity, though:

Exactly how quickly do we need to reply to your threads so you'll actually see the responses? If we keep it under 9 minutes, is that good for you?

My attention span is about 2 minutes then the ADHD kicks in. I forget about the post then remember in a weeks time :)

Thanks

No worries. Good luck with your brakes.

Because when I think brakes...I think luck.
