I just put in my Franktenturbo and im going to be looking for a tune soon, but i'd rather not spend $600+ on just a tune. I've read that some members here can write tunes. Could anybody refer me to somebody who can write a good FT tune?

tune is probably the only area you shouldn't skimp on. $600 on a tune is probably the LEAST you will pay.

Which is ridiculous considering it's just tweaked software. They can only charge these prices because these people pay them [mad] but i digress...

When i had a Saab, a custom tune cost $250. And that was a with a complicated T7 engine management system

find a local guy that can turn motronics in your area. it would be better than trying to get something off the shelf.

Have you seen the documentation for our ECUs? It isn't pretty, and its in german. These cars aren't easy to start tuning.

If you have the desire to learn how to tune our ME7 ECUs, it isn't that hard to learn the basics. It'd also save you a whole bunch of money. I'm pretty sure Motoza tunes FT setups though.

It isn't hard to learn the basics of programming but that doesn't mean your intro to java class has prepped you for dissecting and rewriting Windows. Same goes for tuning. You can learn the absolute basics in a relatively short time but you'll have a crappy tune and you'll be a long way away from having a proper tune.

Motoza does tune FT setups but he only tunes wideband ECUs and OP has an AEB.

He's aeb. Neither of those options apply to him.

Can't really have side jokes and not have the OP totally clued in. OP, check out this link to understand some of the jokes in this thread.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/551797-Proof-that-audizine-doesn-t-care-about-our-community

I have a 530hp turbo on my car being custom tuned by an Audizine member at no charge using Maestro Suite. Don't want to say who, though. Tuned at 25psi right now and decided to stop there before I do other upgrades (ie dowel pin my crank at a bare minimum).

I bought the um stage 2 tune for my wife's frankenturbo aeb for 400. Aptuning and other dealers sometimes have a 100 off deal on the um tunes. I haven't installed it yet but when I do, I'll let you guys know how it runs. I chose stage 2 since I'm not modding higher than the frankenturbo on her car and the tune calls for 440cc injectors with the stock 4 bar for which I think is plenty for the frankenturbo. If you shop around, I'm sure you are bound to find a good deal in the um tune for much less than the 650 you don't want to spend.

Thing is you can't compare an OTS tune to a custom one. That is what the OP is looking for. When it comes to setting timing advances for a particular motor/set-up, OTS tunes simply won't cut it. They tune conservative (most times anyways) so you won't get the potential out of your setup.

OP, you are going to have a hard time finding someone who will custom tune your ECU. Since you have AEB, an OTS tune may be your best option. 01+ it is much much easier to find someone who will custom tune a stock ECU. Not so much for the years prior.

I posted this morning on another thread about your thread. I was like someone has to have made this thread to troll. It's a trap.
