so i want to put a 2.7t a6 motor into my a4 shell ( NO MOTOR OR TRANNY IN IT )...
the 6 speed a6 tranny is just breaking my ass trying to buy and find parts
sooooo im wondering if i can just buy a a4 5 speed tranny for the car and run a 2.7t with a 5 speed transmission.
NOOOO IT WILL NOT BE HAVING MODS
the motor will STAY STOCK besides for intake and exhaust. no k04 or anything big.

You'll need the 2.8 5 speed I think.

Doesn't matter either will work.

What year is the a4?

If it was an automatic than the rear differential will need to be changed. Auto is 4.11 and 5 speed is 3.89. You also might need the transmission spacer, I know the with the 6 speed it is needed for all motors. I'm not sure if the 2.7t's clutch, flywheel, pressure plate is thicker than the 2.8's which doesn't need the spacer but I think it is.

1.8 and 2.8 5-speed are the same btw in how they bolt up just a little different gear ratios

Wait ! So if the auto diff is 4.11, then I can use my 6 speed transmission ???! Right ?
