To answer your question, Mine in the same position is just a one sided clip. Just whatever the German pulled out of the parts bin I'm sure. Nothing to worry about.

it's meant for something other than where you have it, but I forget. I had it being used to hold 2 lines but I took it off to do a cam follower change and never put it back in. Really unnecessary part imo
