Hey peeps, I'm starting to buy parts for my future build on my a4, I found an AWM conversion pack someone has put together for my AEB 97 a4. I'm told it is easier to tune with the conversion but I'm also being told I don't need it. I want to buy the parts asap from the person but is it worth going the route of converting?

10000000% worth doing.

So when I do the conversion is there anything I have to get done at the dealer?

The versatility of the ME7 is just better. Most tuners won't even touch the ME5 unless you have the Eurodyne Suite for it. While on the other hand, a tuner can custom tune the stock ME7 ECU.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me, though with those parts it should be almost fully plug&play. You don't actually need the dash harness and cluster though, IMO it's easier to do the required wiring work to adapt your dash harness than to replace the whole harness.
