Okay. So, i just got my tires and wheels taken care of, now looking for lights. What should i do, suggestions. I currently have stock xenon, and i added walmart side led's on top as drl's.. I was biding on a yellow hid kit for fogs, but lost (and they were 9007 and got worried). Im looking for cheap stuff, but not 100% crap. Any thing that is an improvement.

I wouldnt call Walmart LED DRL's an "improvement". Quite the opposite.

I put those on to give the look of a new housing. That was the first thing i did. Im looking into real lighting now. All the does is add look.

Alrighty. Do I get new phillips d2s bulbs, or should I get a 55w+hid kit?

Stock ballasts and bulbs are worlds better than those $40 HID kits. Philips bulbs are the best option, Morimoto bulbs are almost as good and half the price.

Okay. As my lights are 14 years old, would you say they would be improved? And what about hid high beams and fogs?

do your high beams have projectors? if not then no.

There will definitely be an improvement, HIDs last long but they don't last forever. One of my bulbs is going pink and the other isn't too far off, I'd be surprised if yours are still a normal colour, let alone as bright as they were when new. HID high beams are a terrible idea, ballasts are rated by how many on-off cycles they can go through so you'll be killing them in your high beams, that's why you only ever see halogen high beams or a movable shutter on the projector as OEM. HIDs in fogs will just piss off everyone in the oncoming lane.

That's obviously an older picture, given the wreath and all. But I put 35watt 3000K HIDs in my fog light housings (prefacelift), and wired them as DRLs.

Here is the light output with my 5000K low beams. I, personally, love the combo.

^i like that. That's what I was thinking, and eventually, going to a junk yard and finding some projectors for my fogs, and I was going to wire them on a separate circuit from the headlights.

My fogs are wired to come on with the ignition. So I can have the fogs on without the headlights on. Of course, I did make a mistake somewhere, because I cannot turn the fogs off, lol.

I'll eventually get some one piece with projectors, and then get deprecate fogs for the lower grille.

Just wire a relay in and use the constant on terminal so when powered it cuts the signal.

Okay. So I did what you guys said, and bought new Philips d2s bulbs, and put them in, a major improvement over before, but my fogs are still brighter, and I just put a $30 eBay kit on my friends silverado, and they are a million times brighter... Why is that?

Here's the theory: Because your car has projector housings that point the light WHERE IT NEEDS TO GO. Reflector housing, ie on the silverado, reflect light all over the damn place. It's all in the aiming that the housing is capable of.

Don't get me wrong, I have HID's in my reflector OEM lights, but that's because I'm an asshole, lol. I also check the aiming of my headlights every couple weeks to ensure I am not blinding anybody.

He put projector halos in. Sorry. I should have stated that.

No offense to him, but ew. Halos are meant for bimmers, and bimmers only.

But alas, that's not the issue at hand. It is POSSIBLE that your ballasts are going bad. It could also be that the ground wire is not grounding as well as it should be. Do you have any light flickering or anything of the sort?

Thats what i thought but getting them with halos was cheaper and dumb chevy drivers seem to like them.

I have No flickering, lights turn on fine. How would I check the ballast or ground, the lights look complicated.... The only thing I am jealous about on his truck is how easy everything is.
