I am a music lover and I knew a custom system would beat factory. My only problem was that I wanted to keep the look and finish of my car intact. I got lucky and fond a great installer in my local area. TC Audio has been around for more than 20 years. Todd took good care of me by listening to my needs and making sure we had the right mix of components and clean installation. I'm not a bass head and I do travel some so I didn't need too much in the case of subs and amps. Here is my component setup:
-Factory head
-Audison Bit One
-Audison DRC
-Hertz HDP4 amps (2)
-Hertz HV165
-Hertz HT25
-Hertz ESK165
-Hertz HX250

Very nice install.
How does it sound?

It sounds really good. The Bit One allows me to create settings for the different types of music I listen to. We're going to install more sound dampen to the rear deck area, some slight vibrations with some low bass notes, but that's par for the course with most custom jobs. But other than that I'm very pleased with the system.

Very nice. On the ash tray mod, was your original sash tray part centered where the DRC is now? Or was that piece completely fabbed? On my S4, the ash tray is offset toward the driver side. And we're you able to maintain the emergency shift release? If not, here's hoping you'll never need it!

The ashtray was in the same location as yours, and we looked at other locations like underneath the arm rest but I wanted to be able to access the different DRC settings I created for different types of music. Yeah I do hope I don't need the shift release but I think the chances are pretty slim.
