I'm looking to get Opti-Coat Pro installed around the mid-Atlantic (DMV) area and I've seen varying quotes: $395 + labor to prep (paint correction) all the way up to $599 (includes labor prep). Does that seem reasonable for this kind of work? I've read some of the threads where $350-450 was quoted, but not sure if that was just for the opti-coat or for everything. Also, some places offer warranty applications for another $100. Is that worth it to get?
Thanks in advance.

There is a min pricing for the OCP and that is $395 min for prep and application. Now keep in mind, if you don't want the paint corrected before the application, then you may choose to do so.
Prep is wash and decon and then followed by application. Any further work is between you and the detailer.
This is why you mentioned the following "$395 + labor to prep (paint correction)" and "599 (includes labor prep)"
The first is stating the base min price of $395 and then any polishing on top. The second ($599) probably includes at least a 1 step correction prior to the application.
The pricing is what the market will allow and depends on where you're located.
A lot of the detailers don't like to offer the warranty b/c the detailer is on the hook for the labour. They will get the product reimbursed to them, but not the labour.
Hope that helps. =D

Figure 1 step with Opti Coat would be $650 and paint correction for $850.
Opti Coat typically runs on its own $250-350.

Opti-Coat PRO in Atlanta starts at about $800 with a light polish and prep. That's far from a basic application.
Because Optimum does not have a minimum specific guideline to follow for application, you get a broad range of prices and levels of service from detailer to detailer and from one area in the states to another. It's the detailer's duty to educate the car owner as to specifically what is being done and the options available...and it's in the owner's best interest to ask questions and find not necessarily the cheapest price, but the one that provides the best solution for their needs.

Thanks. Seems like I didn't account for the prep work, which obviously is a big part in making it look as good as can be, and so Opti-Coat can do its thing.

Depends where you go. It is expensive but worth it.
A good paint correction can run $500+ for a 2 step and the opticoat can be in the $300-500 range. I know Garry dean in Florida charges around $400 for his.
The correction is key since whatever is under there is there until you polish it out.

Got it. Get it done right or not at all.

I had mine done at Rhino Detail in Huntington Beach, CA. They did all the prep work, Opti-Coated plastic, rims and I think the glass. $599.00 for the whole thing.
I was very pleased. I had moderate paint issues that needed to be corrected.
