My buddy [wrench] a AWE exhaust on his APR Stage 2+ tune 2.0T tipronic . Afterwards he gets a P0089 code that keeps popping up after[drive] wot. He says he never got that before with stock exhaust[confused]. Has anyone here every heard of this[headbang][confused].

Any help is appreciated. Thanks for any info beforehand[az]

I can't take it anymore. And the code is 100% unrelated to the exhaust. It is a fuel code related to "fuel pressure regulator" which doesn't really exist on our cars. Good luck getting it to go away.

Honestly, it probably isn't as bad on a computer, but in Tapatalk, it doesn't actually show the emoticon, and I have to read out every single image's bb code. Super tiresome. Totes horrbs

No, it's just as bad. All those stupid animated emoticons detract from the post. Whoever invented them should be shot.

Replacing my in-tank low pressure pump worked for me.

P0089 is generic. Scan with VAGCOM and get the real code(s).

Maybe your buddy doesn't have enough back pressure on his awe exhaust......

Anybody??? See what I did there?

Funny thing Mean Man Martin[hail]. He told me he put his[wrench] old stock exhaust back on and the light wont come back on after multi-several[drive] WOT WTFFFFFF[confused]. We didn't have access to a true VAGCOM [=(]. I have the [poop] knock off cable and cd. It wont log everything[headbang][=(]. He's totally[confused] on what to do with that exhaust now.......

if you're still talking about the 0089 code, about it coming on with the AWE exhaust and going away with the OEM exhaust, it's completely coincidental. "pressure regulator performance" has nothing to do with the exhaust.

p.s. [:)][:D][headbang][race] and all that [poop][up]

He told me he is[wrench] reinstalling awe exhaust tonite and [drive] tomorrow to see if its coincidental[confused]

My friend re[wrench] exhaust. The check engine lite pops back on with a[drive] few WOT over 4500 rpm.[mad]. He calls a few tune shops and where he got his APR tune from[headbang]. They tell him to [drive] for a few days with lite on until the ECM re-calibrates itself[confused]. Can this be true or just full of[poop]. They said that because ecm has adaptive self tuning when it comes to bolt on[confused]

Update. The cel is out[hail]. The ecm had to go thru its learning curve[up]. Was told that the decrease in back psi cause the P0089 to be thrown[confused]. But whatever he happy its gone[:)]
